The Laughter" is a production that has been crafted at the intersection of performing arts, drawing from universal traditions that transcend cultural boundaries. The show communicates emotions that surpass the limitations of spoken words and blends techniques of dramatic art, visual and physical comedy, a combination of puppetry, music, irony, and humor, eschewing conventional dialogue to explore the profound depths of human existence.

In Memory of Soshu Shigeru Oyama, founder of Oyama karate. "Soshu was a great teacher. He used to say: "sweat first talk later". He was a proponent of unforgiving training. "Pain is good"- he said often - it gives you a sense of being alive". His favorite combination was three punch combination."You start with the front punch"- he said,- on the third punch, your opponent must go down..." shihan...

Es y sera por siempre un gran sensei que Dios lo tenga en la gloria ❤
I tested for my Black belt (and Received it) the last time he tested at his Dojo on 6th Ave NYC. It was quite the experience!
Which street was his original dojo in White Plains
*PromoSM*
I trained at the dojo on 6th Ave from 1982-1987 until I messed up my knee. I had to stop training after that. I stopped by after about 6 months. Saiko Shihan sees me taking to Sensei Hioki and he yells, “John, you got fat!! Need come back training!!” 😂😂
Awesome video. I too had the honor of training in his NYC dojo in 1993. A true master and excellent teacher. The full contact training and sparring in every class is the difference that makes a difference!
meus magister
Needed to hear this 🙌!!! Do not waste your time > P r o m o S M!
I was fortunate enough to have him at both of my black belt tests. My Shihan was one of his first students. (Shihan Clyde Coy- Stickman in Greenburgh) He asked him to come for just me and my sister for our promotion to 1st dan. He also came 2 years later for my promotion to 2nd dan. I'm so grateful to have known him. Osu!
I just joined an Oyama Karate offshoot dojo. I hope I get to meet his younger brother Saiko Shihan Yasuhiko Oyama.
A true man of honor, the embodiment of Bushido. I had the great fortune of being one of his students. He imparted the gift of the way to me more than 30 years ago that I still carry in my heart & mind to this day. Grand Master Shigeru Oyama lives on in all of his dedicated students. The martial arts is not simply a form of self defense, but a way to live your life in a honorable way. That was his gift to us and the world.
FYI the link of Master Makoto Nakamura’s teaching video ua-cam.com/video/V0IZcFVf7-g/v-deo.html
Kyokushin Master Makoto Nakamura‘s hand -hock & punching techniques are original ones of Saiko Shihan Shigeru Oyama I suppose OSU
"What would you do if somebody attack you? - I would run. I dont want to kill anybody"
Why is his surname Oyama? Is he related to the Kyokushin founder?
Oyama is not the real name of the founder.
@@Gieszkanne @Josiah Heng en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shigeru_Oyama - Shared 'adopted' sir name, not related.
masatatsu oyama is korean and his real name is Choi Yeong-eui he legally change his name to became a japanese citizen. oyama was born in south korea during the japanese empire or maybe the occupation. not so sure specifically. this was before the time mas oyama was enlisted in the Japanese military during ww2.
shigeru oyama was an orphan who lost his family after ww2. masatatsu saved him and he adopt him and shigeru becomes mas oyama's student and legally changed his korean name to a japanese name and become a japanese citizen
@@artisticsolarninja oyama shigeru sensei was Korean too.his Korean name is cho il sam,his younger brother oyama yasuhiko Korean name is cho tae un when mas oyama came to Japan he was early teen, nobody gave room to him because he was Korean but oyama shigeru family gave oyama place to stay.mas oyama used to babysit shigeru sensei brother yasuhiko.Choi young eui changed his name to oyama masutatsu in Korean we read dae San bae dal. We Korean people calling our self as ‘ people of bae dal.’ he changed his name into Japanese but he doesn’t want to forget his motherland that’s why he changed to bae dal -masutatsu. And oyama name came from oyama shigeru family name.masutatsu -bae dal is ancient name of Korea.
He tested me in 2012 for 1 dan. Rip Soshu
this man changed my life in 92. He did a series of seminars in Poland and I was lucky enough to attend one in hosted in my primary school.

I was one of his students in 1966 at White Plains dojo owe him so much
do you the address of that dojo?
Where was Soshu Shigeru's Kyokushin dojo in NYC? Was it in Koreantown?
It was on 6th Ave (Avenue of the Americas) near West 4th Street. It was above the old department store, M.H. Lamston's. I went trained there briefly in 1983, before he left Kyokushin and started his own World Oyama Karate. He was, to put it mildly…intense! OSU!
the man was no joke .. i seen him beat a student in front the whole full dojo because the guy s father was paying tuition and the young man was not coming into class he was wasting his fathers money .. dudes nose was bleeding.. like 1986 or 87 that man will have my respect till last day on this earth RiP SENSAi OUS !!
