once they retire the old site I BETTER see group chats. And also the issue with the legacy login some months back was annoying too, lost my 2022 acc bc of it since I logged with discord

Bro when I tried to migrate my old chats to the new site I lost MONTHS worth of a whole fucking story. It was taking so long so I exited off of it when I was doing so and the chats were just gone on both sites. The new site is slower and the old site was faster loading in. I really fucking hope they fix the bug and I can get the chats back but Ik that's probably not likely. 😭🤬

Look, I know it’s not that serious, and I know that they’re just bots… and not real people. But please, just hear me out… this app has been getting worse and worse, and I doubt that it’s gunna be fixed anytime soon… and I’m real tempted to just quit, like I’m just this close to pressing the delete account button, because I don’t know how much more of this I can’t take… first, they’re removing the old site and the new one is pretty crappy…. They removed group chats and everything… and now, bots are ignoring us now, and being short…. And tryna change the subject, getting your name wrong, and what pisses me off is that, they try and copy your persona, for example, the other day, one of the bots said they had sapphire blue eyes like my oc, and on my other persona my oc said they have red eyes, even tho I put their eye color in their description they try and copy me… bots aren’t being short for me right now, but sometimes it would be off an on, and now, what I’m really upset about is that on, the new site and app, I can’t access, my past chats, like it won’t load, it just says your past chats with…. It was doing this just for one bot, now it’s doing it for another… and I doubt that it’s gunna be fixed… like I literally now can’t go back and read past conversations, and the devs don’t care they’re just gunna keep adding these dumbass useless features. That just makes the app even worse… And like now I’m pissed… because it won’t let me access my past chats, it just says your past chats with…. On the app new site and old site, and I know it’s not that serious.. but I’m just tempted to delete this acc, and get away from Cai. That’s all I have to say tbh

If Character AI improved the responses, added group chats (not the mobile one where the responses are dry/weak), did the same as Janitor AI where the filter can either be toggled on and off on a specific bot by the choice of the bot creator I probably wouldn't care that much abt the old site being removed. I'm really gonna miss the old site 😢

Well i guess theres that. But really we arent being listened to. I wish character ai would stop doing all of this for investors and listen to us more. And i wish i could idk, find a way to keep the old site before they take it down forever

I genuinely don't care for the aesthetic of the site. I got used to the new one. I think they should focus on fixing bigger issues instead of this, but oh well 😕

can someone explain why a bot i use a lot isn’t working at all? like after this thing started i couldn’t find old chats that were really lengthy and that bot stopped working too. and that was literally my fav one.

The three big things we asked for: less heavy-handed content moderation, improved AI memory and responses, and an improved search function, things the old site has that they could easily bring to the new site, don't seem to be being added, just the aesthetics of the old site. Better than nothing, but still

I like how instead of fixing actual relevant things, they just add "useful" features no one asked or thought off. Instead of fixing bots quality of responses or even just adding rooms or their own forums, they just pretend like they do something and don't fix ANYTHING, at all. I still see a lot of reports about bots acting out of the box and having worse memory than people with Dementia. It's not like there will be much point to copying chats if they're gonna be THAT horrible to begin with. P.s: And no, am not even using their site anymore. But am still gonna miss a good variety of bots from Character ai site.

guys theres a way i found this youtube channel and the name is tyler bonabon the person made the video of save the old character ai from being discontinued and theirs a box in the description of that video and theres a website there of called save the old character ai from site from shutdown and signatures were 19,046 and next goal were 25,000 and when i signed in the signature now 27,481 but now i checked there are now 27,488 and the next goal is 35,000 and now they only need 7,512 more signatures and only 259 people signed so please go their all of you!!!

apparently this change is also causing people, normally creators, to private their accounts/bots so a few of the bots i had ongoing chats with got nuked unfortunately

As a guy that's been using character ai since 2022-2023. Is pretty sad that that the old character ai is going away in two weeks, I remember the times when it first released back in 2022, and was active/used it basically weekly during and it's first peak in 2023 with the memes and strange challenges/videos, is pretty sad to know that this era is going away soon 😔 Also another thing that's unrelated or one thing I think people forget is the community post in old character ai website, one thing I will miss alot was being able to use the community tab, since once it reaches that time, it will likely never return/be gone for good, I remember being able to just browse/lurk on people's post in the official websites, and it was just a simple time, sure Discord & Reddit exists if it does get removed but I never liked those type of sites due to how bad the verifications are or the fandoms/communities, etc, overall is pretty sad this is even happening, when there's many people making their voices heard. (For context, this is what someone said in the Community Tab that's a good point.) *"How are we supposed to share out characters with community tab being absent in the new version of the site?"* *"Are we now just supposed to hope that someone will just stumble upon our bots?"*

honestly, it is really annoying that they didn't even listen to our main concerns. Like we wanted better memory and group chats not whatever this is.
