A very informative and helpful video. I am in my fourth week post op, so I knew in advance of watching, much of the content, but it was still great to confirm many of your recommendations, and experiences. I had mine done in Mexico by an amazing Doctor, Alejandro Flores, in Monterey, but I am self recovering and doing my own therapy in Tulum. I am walking without hip pain with a cane, and occasionally without, around my house. All indications are, this will prove to be a great decision after procrastinating for years with increasing pain and discomfort.

We did a similar cruise on NCL in the Adriatic several years ago. Croatia is amazing.

I've watched a lot of videos on folks who have had hip replacement but this is by far the best and most informative video yet. My surgery for my hip is next month and I feel much more confident about having the surgery now--thank you.

I swear by money belts. Not the baggy type that hangs outside your belt. I mean the thin/slender type that can be worn inside the waist of your pants/slacks. Great for passport, tickets, paper cash, cards. And they have no noticeable bulge for pickpockets to target. I have used them for several decades of travel. Never failed.

Very good and thorough video. After I have my surgery I'm required to do physical therapy 3 times per week for 8 weeks. Luckily my spouse will help me by driving me and helping me dress. I hope my recovery goes as smoothly as yours and you are now feeling much better.

I and my wife (with 6 other couples) are taking this cruise May-June 2025 and I need your advise. Would it be advisable to book private tours instead of taking the ones offered by the cruise line? Would we be ok just taking the bus/train to explore the ports? Thank you.

You mentioned getting insurance for your excursions outside of what the cruise ship offers. I purchased insurance from NCL, will this cover the Viator excursions, or do I need to purchase more insurance?

I once had to purchase Q-tips and cotton balls (thanks to a dermatitis/eczema issue that occurred from open ear headphones) in Puerto Rico at the resort we were staying at. It cost me around $8 for a very small amount!! Thank you for that hand sanitizer suggestion - I'm getting some!

Don't forget to save at least 10 minutes of internet if you need to check in for your flight if the flight is on the day of disembarkation. Most airlines want you to check in for your flight 24 hours prior to the flight.

My next cruise will be on the NCL Pearl in March 2025 in a Penthouse Suite and after that cruise I will be a Sapphire latitudes level and my brother will be Platinum level.
