I had a day off during the week and decided to visit margate for the first time. It's such a beautiful coastal town. The beach is really nice for a sunny day! There is a Tudor Home to see and many old english buildings. It really does take you back in time. Highly recommend it! Hope you enjoy the video :)

I had the opportunity of visiting japan in december 2023 as an end of year solo trip and a bit of a mental break! Luckily you stuck to the nice bit-the old town where the investment has been due to the Turner Centre & Palm Bay. The rest of the area-Margate High Street, Seafront, Cliftonville etc is a run-down dump. Sadly The Tudor House has been left to rot by the council for decades, along with the Winter Gardens, Theatre Royal, Lido etc-hell they started leaving that one to rot in the late 1980's. They have only recently reopened the Caves-after decades of neglect. One place you might not have known about that is open is the Shell Grotto-it is between the Tudor House & Dane Park that although a bit out of the way, is well worth a visit. Broadstairs is really nice, but avoid Ramsgate like the plague, even worse than the worst bits of Margate.
That's so helpful to know! So sad to hear the Tudor house has been neglected. It truly is beautiful. I'll make sure to go to the Shell Grotto next time I'm in Margate. Thank you so much for all the information in your comment!
