Mike Locksley explains how Maryland football pulled off a season-saving comeback against USC
Via UMTerps.com:
COLLEGE PARK, MD - Billy Edwards Jr.'s rushing touchdown with 53 seconds remaining gave Maryland its largest fourth-quarter comeback win in five seasons, as the Terps rallied for a dramatic 29-28 victory over USC in the first-ever meeting between the teams on Homecoming at SECU Stadium. The Terps scored 15 fourth-quarter points for their first Big Ten win of the season to move to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Up 28-22, USC (3-4, 1-4 Big Ten) went for a field goal attempt with 1:41 left to play, but Donnell Brown blocked the kick. Quashon Fuller came up with the ball and lateraled it to Glendon Miller, who returned it around midfield. The Terps drove the rest of the way to the endzone, capped off by Edwards' last-minute score. The Trojans had a final chance to take the lead, but Caleb Wheatland forced an incompletion, and USC turned the ball over on downs at the Maryland 35-yard line. The Terps got in victory formation and fans rushed the field as the clock hit zero.

Edwards finished the game 39-of-50 for a career-high 373 yards and three total touchdowns. It was his second career 300-yard passing performance, and he also set a career-high for completions, the third-most in a game in Maryland history. His 12 straight pass completions in the first half also marked the longest streak of his career.

Mike Locksley on Maryland football's ugly 37-10 loss to Northwestern: "Today, we took a step back."
Переглядів 41714 днів тому
Maryland football fell behind early and could never catch up to Northwestern in a stunning Friday night home loss, 37-10. The Terps, on paper, tallied up better stats than the Wildcats in general areas like yards, time of possession, first downs and more, but four turnovers given away led to a 27-point loss. "Nobody can be tougher on us than we will be on ourselves and what I will be on myself,...

What's the status of Maryland basketball's $50 million additions?
Jeff. Need you on Threads. I deactivated Twitter for my own reasons, but would love to see content on Threads.
@insideMDSports. I will be traveling from Los Angeles to College Park to see USC play the Terps this Saturday. My question is, how is SECU stadium as far as visiting teams fans showing up in their teams gear, hats and jerseys? is it a mellow family atmosphere park or is it a bad idea; like going to a Philadelphia game in the jersey, lol?? I will be with my college aged son. Thanks!!
You said the same thing last game Mike. When will you take accountability and admit there’s a coaching issue starting with you.
They got absolutely annihilated. It was literally as though they weren’t even on the field with that other team. Absolutely pathetic performance!!
Gotta go… this guys isn’t the one to lead this team
It's seems almost impossible to lose that bad to Northwestern without trying to. Need a real coach.
He that is good at making excuses is seldom good for anything else
Sounds like a complete mess. Sad too because the recruiting class next year might have been good. I’ve been waiting to see the Terps beat a ranked team, only to watch them lose to unranked team at home week after week.
He full of it get him out Md
Need them old jersey back
More Washington SkinMannders content! 😉 Jeff needs major crash course on the history of one of the great, NFL legacy franchises. Also , evident he hasn't watched he'd #JD5 at all. If he did, his mouth would be agape like everyone else who consumes the NFL. # HTTR4LIFE #HTTC 🐷🏈💪
Locksley had a 3-31 record when hired, and people expected a diamond? Got to move on.
A guy like Joe Smith…
Well indiana still hasn't played anyone after beating maryland (sarcasm) ooooof
Would be really cool for him and great for the program but I think biletnikoff is way more realistic than Heisman
Could be 1st Rd pick
Can’t wait to watch Tai vs the Big 10. The atmosphere at the stadium was great today
Is it possible to reupload this without the box in the middle of the video with the the text and crap in it?
Schneider Heights
Thanks!
How can you not have Steve Francis??
Jace Flats
The upper deck was approved and construction nearly completed before Debbie Yow became Athletic Director. And Yes. To hell with Debbie Yow. But she wasn’t involved in the planning, approval or financing of the upper deck.
Well done hard list to do cant argue
That El Paso story was amazing.
Every game Billy grows... Let's see what happens... GO TERPS!
Ernest Graham was more of a Shooting guard /Power forward at Maryland. Albert King was the small forward.
No film of Barad Davis at Maryland
Love Coach’s delivery. He really seems comfortable and open. This should be a great year!
Juan dixon?
Coach Locks is such a great leader!
Awesome content. Could listen to coach Friedgen talk Terps football all day
Great interview.
All 3 Spaulding kids are really good
Some new helmets up there on the shelf....
Zach Randolph 2.0!
100ft x 20ft high I think it is. For a 19,000 seat arena that HUGE.
I tell you I owe my whole college career to Coach Freidgen. He was tough, but at the same time I needed that. To this day my days at Maryland are the best football days of my life. Thank you Coach.
Collins NOT in Pro HOF... Had the stats of a lot of guys already like ....His stats compare almost identical to Lynn Swann who is in the HOF. Swann had 338 receptions Collins had 331. Swann had 51 receiving touchdowns, Collins had 70. Collins was also the MVP of the 64 championship game
That's too bad. He should be there
Great stuff. Thank you for this.
Yes now come on Malik Washington and the rest of the best in the DMV
I think Edwards is in third but i think Locks probably have him in front of Edge because when you hear him. Speak Edwards is mentioned more and he speaks of Edge as a also
Good get.......we desperately NEED to keep the top DMV Defensive Linemen in College Park though.
Great interview! Very structured…good vibe overall!! Keep it up!
Good job, I think this is close to what will happen. But, here are the prediction changes or possible scenarios I see that are slightly different: 1. Ga Tech will go to the SEC instead of Virginia. In other words, they swap places in the new ACC-American conference or whatever it will be called.. Why? Because I don't think the schools in states surrounding Georgia (especially Florida) think it would be fair for the Georgia Bulldogs to be the lone representative in such a big recruiting state, when everyone else has two. Besides, Ga Tech is pretty competitive and has even won a national championship; not to mention they reside in big Atlanta, and they play Georgia every year in a rivalry game, anyway. 2. The new ACC-American conference teams might be correct. However, N Tex and Fla Atl are in huge markets and might be kept. If not, I think they'll go to the much better Sun Belt instead of C-USA. ...And, as you mentioned, I think Army and Navy are still in the mix to stay instead of going independent. 3. ND and Stanford to the BIG would be a huge decision for both, though I think it's possible. However, it would interesting to think who the BIG would take instead, if they don't get invited or choose not to join? Syr, Pitt, Va, Duke? Steal Cinc from Big 12? Any of those 5 would be worthy additions.
Duke, UConn, Memphis & SDSU to Big 12 = 24. Add 6 no Football schools; Gonzaga, Creighton, Marquette, St Marys, St Johns & Villanova. No non-con, start with 2 games against Coaches Poll foes; 1-3, 4-6...28-30, then 29 game Round Robin regular season. Eastern, Central & Western Divisions for non-revenue sports. Done.
Duke would abdolutely be in the Big 12! 1st choice.
Enjoy the next tailgate! Let's go Terps!
B1G is not going to expand again for a few more years because the next area of expandion is south, which means ACC, which means none of these teams will get an invite without owning their own media rights. And that isn't happening because the GOR is flat out solid, FSU isnt getting out of it. So they are just as stuck as the rest of the ACC teams. When expansion happens again, if FSU still doesn't have AAU status then it will be UVA, GT, Miami, and UNC. If FSU DOES get AAU then probably them and not Miami. That is it. No Clemson. They are not a factor here. And there is no way GT being Atlanta is left out of B1G or Big12 expansion conversation.
