Im about to buy one for a first car. At about 150k km, I read they reach 300-400km w/o probs and I think its worth it for 2.500 eu. What are your thoughts? Alternatives?
Seems a bit expensive for such an old car, but that depends on the price level of your country. A Honda/Toyota might be a good alternative
You can get these for about 1500-2000 with average mileage. These 1.6 engines hold up good, just make sure to replace belts when needed. Engine is bulletproof. Had one gone over 300k km (from new) and only had some brakes, windshield wiper motor, regular services done.. oh and replace the transmission nylon plugs for solid shifting in 1st gear, you’ll be fine..

What middlepipe do you have on this bike ? As my exhaust hangs down lower from the fairing and I want to raise it up
I think i used whatever pipe that came in the kit. Can't recall exactly
I have your car, exactly the same, but I don't have your sound or acceleration, mine it's a 97 one 1.6 90HP 66kw, not 98 but is the same. how you do that? what have you improved? I wont to make something on mine but I'm not sure what, please respond
The car was scapped quite a few years ago so i can't remember that much, but i know the exhaust had a small leak which added some sound. The tires had very little grip, so maybe they had a lower rolling resistance. Can't remember the size

How many spend in 100 km ? İn city or out of city?

even quicker with BSR exhaust and tune, but not as quick as the stock V70 T5 2.4 that i repplaced this with :)
sonnyman2000 I'm going to rebuild a t5 and put it in my 740. Aiming for 500-600hp. Was looking around what 0-60 times I could expect.
And if a b5204t will rev higher because of less stroke.
XD XD it sounds like a bubble machine bro. its a 125 ffs! enjoy your engine burn
Engine burn?
yeah it comes from incorrect fuel mixture, it causes hot spots. if you have the correct set up it will e fine. but if you haven't got the correct mapping over time you'll notice a change such as bogging down as soon as you rip throttle. the cbr 125 r has a cat and a muffler the engine is set up to work with these, and uses back pressure to get the correct set up, effectively you've busted that
when you change the exhaust, or need to change the air filter to match, and the ecu or carb set up and jets, or its like butting more wood on a starved log burner, or not having a big enough flu for the release of gasses, or to much release, resulting in the least optimal burn, best case wasting fuel, worst case not running enough fuel, and causing one part of the piston to over heat, causing a hot spot, a hot spot causes faster ware, uneven ware, and even a damage in your block if it continues depending on severity, and will eventually require a rebuild, bore and a new piston and rings
hey you seem like a wise dood ima planning to put a replica slip on to my cbr125r 2006 would it be bad for bike?

I have a T5 same year I'm really thinking of going with the stage 1 the and maybe the air filter. What can I expect from the new tune? Do they send you the bsr badge as well? Haha thanks for uploading you car is wicked! Also why do you say you wish it was a T5?
I gets quite a bit faster with stage 1, but you really feel the better response when you go from stage 1 to 3. I did get the BSR badges with the PPC. Thanks for the compliment! Currently looking for a -05+ V70 as I need more space and the T5s have more tuning options easily available :)

Mounted all parts today, but running with original 315 cc injectors so I am a bit careful on the throttle. TD04HL-16T JT 3" 200 CELL Downpipe BSR Catback with replacement pipe 02BT30R 1/2 of the time was just to get the old, rusty components off. When getting the new Turbo on I had to bend one of the coolant pipes for the turbo, because the 16T has one water line on each side while 12T has both on one side. Took an hour to make it fit, but it worked! Everything took approx 10 effective working hours in the garage with a buddy. Tried driving a bit, took the car for a 80 km drive before I tried to give it full throttle in second gear, wow the difference from BSR stage 1! It's 250+ HP now, if the Stage 1 gives 228 HP. I'm so happy now when driving, really joyful :D Next project is to get a proper custom tune and at the same time mount the Bosch 968 "green giant" 465 cc injectors.
Nice job! It will be way faster than mine when you get those injectors in for sure
Thanks man, I have no idea the speed times of it right now as I am too big of a coward to give it a proper full throttle run :D But BSR Stage 3 seems really quick as well, at least compared to the original 180 HP and the Stage 1!
Kimmix Did you ever proceed with green injectors and a custom map? Curious, 'cause I have a similar project going right now.
ok this is old but i have to ask, how's the car? Isn't 2.0T a fragile engine to go above 200hp?
@@Noh1996 6 years at 250 HP now, no issues 😊
Got the exhaust system and the turbo, but not mounted yet. I am really struggling whether to get the blue T5 injectors or the green giant S60R injectors. So almost all the parts are ready at least. I got the BSR sportflow and a 3" downpipe from JT Racing with a 200 cell racing catalysator. The downside is that I don't have a garage available, but I have a good friend which does, unfortunately he is a taxi driver so he works 3 weekends each month. I really hope I can get it up and running within November.
Nice! I am currently on the lookout for a V70 T5 to replace my S60. Let me know how the project goes!
Why replace your fantastic S60? :( I'll keep you updated :)
@@KimmiM14x did you know the vaxhall astra vxr injectors are a staight fit? and are a higher flow than the green volvo ones?
How is the clutch holding up with the 250 hp ? :D
No issues to report so far. I know a guy who had a V70 2.4t with BSR stage 3, and the original clutch needed replacement around 380k km. It was used as an unmarked police car earlier, so it probably had a hard life too :P
That is impressive, my car just passed 200 000 km this week actually, so I hope I still have some km's left on my clutch too :O I've gotten the 16T turbo for my 01' S60 2.0T already, but not gonna be mounted before start of October probably. I've just ordered the exhaust system that I decided on, and looking to order injectors this week. Hope it is gonna work out when I got all the parts mounted!
@@sonnyman2000 so im planning on a bigger intercooler and a 20t turbo and also astra vxr injectors staight pipe exhaust and performance filter plus hybrid blow off valve, what power do you think i would be looking at with these mods? considering i can fit all of this myself without issue the pricing is pretty reasonable
@@somervillearron Not sure what power you can expect, but i heard from ARD Tuning that at 300 hp on the 2,0t, the internals are stressed to the maximum. If you can get everything to work and get a tune for it, its probably going to be a lot of fun! If you can get a 2,4 T5 (2005+) I would, as it is a different beast
Hey sonnyman2000! Did you upgrade to the 16T turbo, or were you satisfied enough with the stage 3? I also have a S60 2.0T which I have BSR stage 1 on. I ordered a 16T turbo yesterday, and I am looking to buy BSR downpipe and sportflow, and also the green 465cc injectors. What do you think? Thanks!
I have been thinking about getting a 16T turbo and injectors for a while, but haven't gotten to it yet. I was advised by ARD tuning that if you run that setup with an intercooler you cloud get somewhere between 250 and 300 hp, but then the internals can't take much more. Please let me know how this goes for you :)
Sure! Btw, is there a boost difference between BSR stage 1 and 3? I get 0.8 bar with stage 1. How has your stage 3 2.0T been running ? No problems?
I am running 0.8 as well. I contacted BSR about this, and they told me I might have a leak, as it should be around 1-1,2 bar. Other than that, no problems apart from an O2 sensor
Okay, thanks! :) I think I will try to get BSR stage 3 tune with the TD04HL-16T turbo, as a custom tune here is like £1000 o_O Stage 3 tune is €150 Getting the turbo probably in 3 weeks, I guess within October I will have it mounted, will keep you updated ^^
@@KimmiM14x did you ever get the 16t turbo? if so what was the difference like? ive ordered a 20t turbo and astra vxr injectors and a large intercooler plus performance filter and hybrid blow off valve

Hello, did you notice any reliabilty issues when upgrading to the bsr stage 1 chip?
No problems at all with stage 1 on my car. Stage 3 gave a CEL. I had to change rear o2 and get BSR to adjust the tune. Been around 60 000 km since I first chipped the car (209k km atm), been very happy with it.
Is the Stage 3 Worth €1500? [180 HP (197) to 250 HP.] How much more do you love your car with it ? :D
It's a lot more fun! Better response than stage 1 and great sound. If you have to money go for it. Still wish it was a t5 tho :/
Sounds like stock

This is remapped!

Is it the full exhaust system or only the slip-on? And have you noticed any change in the motorbike's behavior? Such as it hasn't the same HP(cv) in low RPM? Thanks!
Full exhaust. There was a tiny increase in power. I could hold sixth gear a bit easier on the motorways and not have to downshift all the time. But it's only noticeable when you look at the speedometer (3-4 extra kph up some hills). Sounds badass without the baffle tho
i wonder what can i get out of my s60 t5
Atleast 420hp, i friend of mine have a S60 T5 412hp/570nm :)
Why is the engine light on? Is it because of the new catalyst and downpipe and lambda cable?
I had to change the rear O2 sensor and BSR did some adjustments to the tune to get rid of it
Nice Volvo. Any problems with the software?
+Jason smith Only some problems with the rear O2 sensor readings. I changed the sensor, and BSR changed my tune a bit and its been all good for the last 40k kms
