It's a very well known story. It's a wonderful story. But if we're willing to listen, for many of us, it's a story which deserves a warning - because what it teaches is both good and unnerving!

Thank you.
This is very helpful and meaningful, although I heard it 1st hand at church this morning it is good to listen and ponder. This is hard...but by God's grace and mercy we can lift up our hands in blessings. Find the blessing and positive. Thank you
Lovely to feel part of our big church family
This was an awesome message, nice to be able to listen from far away
Hi Rowan It’s wonderful to hear your sermons again. Missed them so much. Hope you are well. Regards your old secretary Linda Walsh
what a gift to hear from you; please message me at the church!
Hi Rowan, so lovely hearing your songs and your sermons again. Missed them so much. Regards your old secretary Linda Walsh
I pray all business leaders use this in their leadership, thank you for a sermon that has such depth and full of Gods guidance🙏
Blessings
Really appreciate this message, thank you Rowan. Only pushback i would give would be where you spoke of Israel's retaliation as being against Hamas not the Palestinian people whereas i would suggest that after October 7th it has been quite clear that the response has been against the Palestinians as a whole. But really Love the balance of how you present this, thank you!
Romans 9-10 my conversion readings.
Thank you.
I do so love the way you impart the message.
Excellent
Thank you. Another brilliant encouraging sermon.
Very thought provoking
How are you
Greetings from Aus. So glad we have recordings like this to listen to
Hmffff. Triggered about misogyny for a reason?
Thank you. As a woman who has served on church councils know what it is like to become put down for expressing opinions.
Thank you Rowan. The Spirit set me free to be me after lifetime of repression.
So good to see you Rowan and Mpumi.... may you continue to be inspired and blessed through the processes of Synod... and may ALL decisions made be ones that are good, perfect and pleasing to God!
Thank you for your powerful message. I am an Anglican and I think this applies to all of us.
What a wonderful sermon. Lucky Newton Park to have you.
This realy touched my heart. Thank you for this message. I need to clean my heart of a stupid anger. Truly not worth it. God bless you
An incredibly thought provoking sermon. From it was able to think back to 'what is my story', that one defining encounter without which today, would probably not have become a true Christian believer. Thank you.
Am 85+and love to a new thing everyday: even when quite trivial. Last weekend was taken to lunch where the man of the house was retired enthusiastic cook. Amazing seafood and something had never seen or tasted but knew was very expensive. A small bottle of the size of our ink bottles in the long ago cost nearly R500.00 . Googling this think I found out why. Saffron is a stamen in beautiful flower. Only three on each flower. Obviously very labour intensive. Thank you for your homilies. These have been very valuable to me as I am a housebound widow. (Prefer not to us my name)
No no no no please 🙏 in ALMIGHTYS NAME STOP SPREADING Lies about JESUS'. The one true MESSIAH. HE could never die for anyones rotten sins no one can ever die for another no one can pay for your bad deeds so please stop his coming back to tel you that he never died for no ones sins you must die for your own sh##sins imagine how long he must remain in hell to burn for so many people who has came and went from the beginning of time so not right not fair. Why when one commit a crime no one else can be punished for it If you do the crime you do the time
Wonderful information thank u.
38 years ago, my mother had lung cancer. She was in a coma and the end was near. A couple of hours before she stopped breathing. She opened her eyes, and with a big smile, pointed and said "Look they are waiting for me at the river". I always thought she meant my father, grandmother and aunt, now I wonder if it was Jesus himself, and the river a kind of divide. I was grateful I was with her in that beautiful moment which gave us great comfort and still does.
A wonderful, comforting message. Thank you.
Just such a beautiful message. Thank you 🙏 🤲
Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them. ♥️
❤
I am currently memorizing this incredible prayer. Thank you for this beautiful recording.
Lovely message 🙏
excellent sermon. So necessary to hear in today's unrest universally.
Thanks Rowan! This is beautiful, and so helpful! It reminds me of that quote which is attributed to Karl Rahner, 'The Christian of the future will be a mystic (captured and enthralled in mystery), or he or she will not exist at all.' I am currently reading Simon Winchester's wonderful book, 'Knowing what we know'. As you spoke of your childhood - deeply curious, critically thoughtful - I thought about my own life and my desire to know, and as I grow older, my desire to know the limits of knowledge and to know the one who is truth, who is mystery! What a gift you are for inviting us into mystery once again! I went back to look at the quote with which Winchester opens the book. It is this one: "Where is the Life we have lost in living? Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?' T. S. Eliot, The Rock (1934).
Amazing sermon. Thank you. I am so looking forward to the series. It is a privilege to listen to you.
Thank you Rowan. Blessings
Amen ❤ Rev. Q the only Pastor whom had never refused a call during Covid 19 in Motherwell buried everyone in the mist of darkness in circuit 232 never had any excuse of day off when community was crying for help or whatsoever, a Man of chosen by God❤
Loved that and am so looking forward to your return. Thank you for your wonderful sermons in 2023 which were so meaningful to me. Oh how I wish your church was in my vicinity.
May it be so.
Absolutely beautiful
Enjoy your sabbatical but you will be missed! Your online preaching has done so much for me and I thank you for the privilege of being able to listen to you and learn so much from you in so many ways. It will be a time for me to go through some of your online videos in your absence. Warm greetings to you and your loved ones for Christmas and I look forward to joining you in 2024. Lorna, Ramsgate, KZN
Such a lovely message with such important content in this context 🙏
'My job is to the best that I can, and the leave the rest in His hands.' What a powerful reminder! Thank you Rowan. Thank you. I was struck by the story that you related of Rick Mullins. I am a struggler, and a grumbler, myself! Thank you for using your gifts to bless me and so many others - thank you for being where you are, and doing what you do so exceptionally well. You may never know how important that has been, and remains, for me and for many others (I am sure). Love and blessings! You know where to find me my friend! I look forward to the day when we can visit again.
So good to have you back Rowan. You have been missed. Thank you for the message this morning
Read in context it's about lazy people
