Thanks this is helping me study.
how on earth did this end up in my recommended lmao anyway, some fun extra bits about the samurai (though more a commentary on Japanese culture in general): As Japan turned sharply rightward just prior to World War 2, its movers and shakers scrambled to define what it meant to be traditionally Japanese. As all recent culture and militarism had been imported from European empires, they instead turned to a westerner's (fairly erroneous/valorized) account of pre-Meiji samurai life, resurrecting a sort of zombie Bushido. This was to go hand in hand with new state-sponsored Shinto, which ripped pieces from various local traditions to create a patchwork that supposedly represented the true nature of traditional Japanese religion. It was a sham, of course-- Shinto practices had been married to Buddhism for some time, and 'authentic' Shinto is buried so deep in the historical record we sadly know vanishingly little about it. Anyway, good luck with your class, Ms. Cline. Until the next time YT recommends me one of your videos <3

Love you 😭💗
Rapid climate change impacted the foment of all of these historic events.
You glossed so much over Theodora that it pains my soul. She is one of the strongest and most influential women in history.
Interesting video. Quite informative
Istanbul!
Answer to the Bonus Question: "Istanbul."
