I Bought The Cheapest Deer I Could Find
I assemble and review the shooter buck 3D crossbow high density target. You won't believe what happens on the 3rd shot! Although you can purchase a stand / base, I chose to build my own diy version. Is this target any good? Come find out!

    Come on, show the pass through. That foam inside isnt compact enough to stop an arrow especially a 70# draw and 500 grain arrow. Cool idea but come on man be honest.

      That stinks things are that expensive in Canada. There a bunch of free things you can scrounge up to make a target out of. Some stores that get farm type merchandise use foam blocks in shipping. You could ask them to save them for you. You can stuff dog food or chicken feed bags inside another feed bag. I have a bag target that is made from coat batting from when a coat company closed up. If you have a 5 gallon bucket and a can of spray foam maybe that may work? I'm trying to think of cheap alternatives for ya. Cardboard stacked and ratchet strapped together or stuff a big box with other boxes maybe. Don't forget about organic materials. Hay, straw, grasses, cornstalks. It will all bundle and stop an arrow. Test it and use it safely and there should be no issues.

    Lol I literally just made this same target with the same anti fatigue mats. However take those scraps and throw them away, you stack layers horizontally and smash it down between wood planks and then you’ll have a better target then the one you just made.

    • @arrowvsobject
      @arrowvsobject 2 місяці тому

      Awesome! Not a bad idea! Do you have any issues getting the arrow out of the wood if you happen to hit it? What kind of wood are you using?

      The sun likes to make things not fit as tight and expand. The top came off of mine from high winds and started to sag a little. I would recommended gluing the seams together or taping from the outside as well as making sure it's all the way full of old clothes etc. But I also found that too much weight inside makes it splay out so there is a happy medium point. It's a solid target for 60 ish. And fun to make.

    Cheaper maybe, but then kiss your money goodbye having to buy more arrow shafts as they warp on that dense foam from recoil.

    • @arrowvsobject
      @arrowvsobject 4 місяці тому

      The foam is anti fatigue foam and it is not dense enough to harm the arrows in any way.

    • @arrowvsobject
      @arrowvsobject 6 місяців тому

      Also, when you wear out all the sides, go buy 2 new packs to redo the outside. ( you'll have 2 leftover ).Take the old outsides and stuff it inside. It has replaceable parts and continues life. I have shot mine so many times. The sun is going to wear it out before I do. It's a great target still. I'm still on the first side with over a thousand shots. I have not had a poke through as of yet, even at 10 feet away. It's a solid self made target. You won't be disappointed. If I had to do anything differently, I would have glued the edges together when I was making the cube.
