Hello! I have not used Monitor Red 15", but I have had Monitor Gold 15". I think that the Monitor Red 15" will sound better at low frequencies, but it seems to me that there will be some loss in midrange clarity. And, naturally, the Monitor Red 15" requires a large room.

It is not tape. The weave in the dust cap shines a light like this when it is viewed from the sides. I have a pair of these. Mine are just like that. No tape 🙂

@@hifisale77 Do you live in an industrial area with highly toxic ac interference? In UK power is relatively stable, just emi filtering is suffice for me, I found over doing ac conditioning may degrade the sound.

Я помнится проигрыватель SONY R1 включал в 110 вольт, ничего плохого не произошло. Но всё же лучше купить хороший японский трансформатор с гальванической развязкой, который понижает с вашего напряжения 220/230 вольт именно до 100 вольт. Почитайте на профильных форумах, на обои форуме много обсуждений этих вопросов.

Ох, извините, я отвечал не видя к какому ролику был Ваш комментарий. С этим понижающим трансом 100 вольтовая аппаратура работала у меня и у моего товарища без проблем! Но всё же это китайский трансформатор, для хорошей японской аппаратуры я выше написал какой нужен трансформатор по моему мнению. Правильный 230/220 - 100 вольт и с гальванической развязкой. Лучше японского производства.
