We went to the kiln chicken place. It was more of a battle with house flies that we cant even eat a proper meal. Very disappointed.
Hi! So sorry to hear that you didn’t had a good experience at the kiln chicken place. It’s sad when restaurant owners did not maintain good standard of hygiene over time. We plan to revisit this place again after CNY and hopefully, things would be better by then. If not, we will certainly feedback to them. Thank you very much for sharing your experience and have a blessed weekend😊
Thanks for your interesting video. Can you share which hotels or airbnbs to stay in?
Hi! We stayed at Aloft Langkawi at Pantai Tengah. While it’s not immediately next to the beach, you can request for a room with sea view. We did a short video on Aloft. This is the link to the video if you wish to take a look at this hotel: ua-cam.com/video/p5R5eQXmRmY/v-deo.htmlsi=uBRACJ1CZthtEcWG We have not looked into Airbnbs for Langkawi before so can’t recommend. Hotels-wise, besides Aloft, Langkawi has many other lovely hotels to suit every budget. If you like to be located just next to the beach, there’s Camar Resort, Parkroyal, the Frangipani, for example. If you prefer more of a rainforest, hillside vibe, Ambong Ambong is very nice. Hope this helps. Cheers! 😊
I like your spontaneous and honest sharing of your first diving experience! The thing I like about your videos is that you are sincere in sharing your finds. Thank you!👍♥
Hi! Glad to know that you enjoyed our videos. We do our best to share food and places which we feel are worth recommending coz vacation time and meal times are precious. Thank you for your kind feedback. Cheers!😊
We have similar taste in food! The Tom Yum Soup and Papaya Salad In Baan Thai Suk that I love is exactly the type that you described 😋. The fish looks delicious too. Am also attracted by the cozy home like ambience in the restaurant. Will go when I visit Bangkok in late Feb 2025! Thank you for your recommendations.
Hi! Nice to meet someone with similar taste in food here! 😊Yes this place, Baan Thai Suk 16 is quite a hidden gem which we chanced upon otw to another restaurant which we had originally wanted to dine in but was delayed by a 4-hour Bangkok jam. We gave up going to that restaurant coz it would mean another hour plus in the traffic jam and it was getting to be rather late. So we just googled to see if there’s any place nearby within the next 5 mins and we found Baan Thai Suk 16, which was a blessing in disguise coz the food and the homely ambience were wonderful! We hope you will enjoy dining there during your upcoming Bangkok trip as much as we did. Thank you for watching our videos and have a blessed day!😊
Where could get the cheapest?
Hi! Based on what we saw during our video shoot, we find that the shop, Laotouzi(老头子) at Masai area in JB, offers CNY goodies at prices generally lower than other places. The drawback is they don’t allow sampling of their cookies. We hope this helps. Thank you for checking out our video and happy CNY shopping! Cheers😊
Hi again! We were at Johor Jaya today and saw they have some promotions going on for the cookies at RM15 per canister and RM68 for 5 canisters. Seems to be the cheapest we came across so far. Cheers!😊
I am already noting down the restaurent names so I can visit there when Ingo JB. Really love the style of lady - very genuine & honest in presenting. ❤
Thank you very much for your kind compliments. We feel very encouraged indeed!❤️We hope you’ll enjoy your dining experiences at the eateries as much as we did. Cheers!😊
Amazing video. Great way to know the yummy food and reataurents in JB
Hi! Thank you for your kind words. We are very glad that you find the video useful. Have a blessed weekend ahead!😊
Thank you for your wonderful video. You introduce the more unusual activities that we can enjoy together with with eating. Keep it up! Have subscribed to your channel!👍😀
Hi! Thank you for kind comments and for subscribing to our channel. We appreciate it very much❤️So glad to know you enjoyed the video. We’ll definitely keep working on it. Have a blessed day ahead!😊
Thanks for your recommendation. Went Sutera mall to buy from 大四喜and City Square mall to buy from joymum’s
Hi! You are most welcomed!😊Hope you had a great time doing your CNY shopping. Cheers!😊
Hi, just made a trip to Skudai to eat at Great Aunt Lalapot. The eatery is no longer there anymore. But it’s ok, there are other eating places in that area. Had a good meal 😊
Hi! Thank you for letting us know. So sorry to hear that Great Aunt Lalapot is no longer there, which is a pity as their lamb pot was really good. Guess F&B biz can be very competitive especially when Sutera has so many eateries. Glad that you found another good place to eat at Sutera👍🏻😊And thank you for checking out our video. Have a blessed day ahead😊
Were you paying int' rate for hotel or special rate for local?
Hi! We booked our hotel stays via Agoda so I guess the rates were considered international rates. Hope this helps and thank you for checking out our video. Have a blessed Sunday😊
@@travelsandroadtrips I see. Don't forget you can claim your reward points in $ within 3 months for hotel expenses with Agoda. We plan to do a 10 wks round trip (unplanned) starting from Penang via SG airport if we don't get the chance to fly out to Berlin. We r from AUS. Thks for info.
@u2ber888 Thank you for kind reminder on the reward points with Agoda! 👍🏻Will definitely look them up. Some of the best trips are unplanned and just follow where the road leads, so have fun on your 10 weeks round trip from Penang! Cheers!😊
Thank you for the video and have always been watching your JB trips with good recommendations. Happy New Year to both of you too. Huat ar!!!
Hi! Thank you for watching our videos. Very heartened to know that the recommendations have been useful. We’ll continue to do our best. Have a Happy & Prosperous New Year! 🍊🍊😊😊

Thank you! God bless you abundantly too!🙌🏻😊
Chinese new year only for local china man and occur in china.
Hi! Thank you for your comment. We believe Chinese New Year is celebrated and enjoyed by Chinese all over the world, and not confined to Chinese in China. Cheers!😊
It's lunear and not chinese new year. Please correct it.
Hi! Thank you for your message. We believe that Chinese New Year and Lunar New Year can be used interchangeably, and since Chinese New Year is a term that also resonates with people, we believe its usage is also acceptable. Hope this clarifies. Thank you for checking out our video and have a blessed day😊
Thank you for the very comprehensive coverage on JB CNY goodies. Great video!
Hi! Thank you for your kind compliments. Enjoy your preparations for the upcoming CNY and have a blessed day! 😊
Wow bak kwa not cheap in ringgit.
Hi! Yes indeed with dollar for dollar comparison, bak kwa is not cheap in ringgit We only find it relatively more affordable due to the favourable exchange rates at the moment. Otherwise, it is definitely not cheap by any standards. Thank you for watching our video and have a blessed day! 😊
Thank you for informative videos. Beside bak kwa meat jerky, chinese sausage. Any curved meats. I think CNY cookies there is an also limitations. In short SG SFA are controlled food imported food n fruits.
Hi! You’re right, thank you for point it out.👍🏻There are limitations on importing food and fruits into Singapore. For processed foods like biscuits, cookies, nuts, etc, according to the latest SFA regulations, the combined weight of all items should not exceed 5kg or 5 litres and the total value should not exceed S$100 per traveller. For fruits and vegetables, a small hand-carry size amount is permitted. Thank you for checking out our video. Have a blessed day! 😊
Thank you for sharing these wonderful new year stores, I am so envious, right here in Australia, faraway from Sydney, no atmosphere at all. Wish you guys a very happy Chinese New Year 🎉🎉🎉🌸🧧
Hi! Thank you for watching our video. Glad it brought you some pre-CNY cheer❤️😊Wish you a most happy and blessed Chinese New Year!🍊🍊😊😊
Great video ! Happy new year ❤❤❤
Hi! Thank you for your kind compliments. Happy new year to you too!😊❤️❤️❤️
Hi, so this bazaar is from. No 1 address given? It open from 6am? 😂 Some say open later afternoon. Confuse liao
Hi! The official opening hours for Johor Jaya CNY Bazaar is 6am to midnight. But personally we have not been there at 6am before so not sure about the level of activity at that hour. Our guess is some stalls may be opened but some closed. Perhaps the closer to CNY, more stalls will be opened at earlier hours. But for this kind of bazaar, personally we feel the best time to go is late afternoon onwards coz the vibe tend to feel more bustling and festive from late afternoon to evening. We realised there’s an error in the address at the description and have amended accordingly. Thank you for checking out our video. Have a blessed evening😊
If Bak kwa cannot bring in sg , why are you promoting so many of the stalls ?
Hi! Thank you for your message. For this video, we try to cover stalls which we feel are unique in some way or another, while at the same time address the needs of our viewers from different geographical locations including viewers in Malaysia, for whom the bak kwa recommendations may be useful. For our Singaporean viewers, we hope these recommendations may be helpful for those who are either looking to buy bak kwa for their friends/relatives/associates in Malaysia or for their own personal consumption while in Malaysia. Hope this clarifies. Thank you for checking out our video and have a blessed day😊
He must be a guy man. He guy again and again.
👍🙏
Hi! Thank you for your thumbs up. Have a blessed day😊
Good if you can provide info on getting there for those who do not have own transport. Nice place for those who like being in rural and relaxed places.
Hi! Thank you for your message. Good suggestion!👍🏻We’ll do that for our future videos. Have a blessed day!😊
Hi, Just happen to chance upon your video. Nice place. However, it would be better if you also provide the cost per night and also details on available breakfast and other meals. Hope to get a reply from you. Tks.
Hi! Thank you very much for your feedback. The reason we didn’t provide the cost per night is because rates for accommodation tend to fluctuate depending on the season and day of the week. Example, during weekends and holiday periods, the rate difference could be double, and we are concerned that the rate we published may not be the rate that our viewers get, thereby causing confusion, etc. But as a guide, the rate we got for Talulah was $306 for 2 nights including breakfast. For the Container Hotel, it was $45 per night with no breakfast. They don’t provide breakfast at the Container Hotel. Hope this information helps. Thank you once again for watching our videos. Cheers!😊
Thanks for great coverage on JB CNY bazaars!
Hi! Thank you very much for your kind comment and for checking out our video. Have a blessed day!😊
Thank you so much. Stumbled onto your channel and really appreciate your video and detailed information.
Hi! Thank you very much for your kind feedback. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a blessed night😊
Bak kwa prices in S'pore S$75/kg, up S$2-S$3/kg as Chinese New Year nears. Much Cheaper in JB.
Hi! Yes, Bak Kwa is definitely much cheaper in JB. Hopefully the authority will allow Bak Kwa to be brought into Singapore in small quantities soon. Thank you for checking out our video, and have a blessed evening😊
Very nice video episode. Thanks for sharing JB CNY 2025 shopping venues. What about Aeon Tebrau? Maybe too far and not convenient for most Singaporeans who do not drive. CNY shopping is all about the mood that the place can create. Shoppers will buy if they are in good mood, even if they do not need the cookies and tit bits.
Hi! Nice to hear from you😊 Indeed CNY shopping is about enjoying the festive mood too. We did check out Aeon Tebrau last Friday but they only have CNY hampers sales event organised by a few brands and a stage for CNY shows. That’s why we did not feature Aeon Tebrau this year. Thank you for watching our video, really appreciate your support and sharing👍🏻Have a great evening!😊
Kindly advise what bus number from jb sentral to this place???
Hi! We have not tried getting around by bus to the places featured in this video before, so we could only advise based on what we could search from Google: 1. For Johor Jaya CNY Bazaar, from JB Sentral, take Bus T14 to Aeon Tebrau. The bus journey to Aeon Tebrau will take approximately 33 mins, depending on traffic conditions, with 17 stops along the way. From Aeon Tebrau, it’s an 18 mins walk to the Johor Jaya CNY Bazaar. Apparently, this is the fastest way to get to Johor Jaya via bus and there don’t seem to be any bus-stops any nearer to the bazaar itself. 2. To go to Sutera Mall, take bus T30 from JB Sentral to McDonald’s Taman Sutera Utama. Journey time is approximately 20 mins with 10 stops along the way. From McDonald’s Taman Sutera, walk 20 mins Sutera Mall. 3. For Laotouzi and Paradigm Mall, we can’t seem to find any clear information. 4. If you wish to visit Ming Ang and you are at JB Sentral, we would recommend checking out their outlet at JB City Square instead which just across the road from JB Sentral, instead of going all the way to Bukit Indah, which will likely take you about 90 mins or so including walking time. Once again, as we have not tried visiting these places via bus from JB Sentral, it is best to verify the accuracy of the above information with the staff at JB Sentral, in case the bus routes or bus service number has changed. Hope the above helps. Thank you for checking out our video and have a blessed day😊

They smoked the meat before slicing them and placing them in the curry. N9 is well known for this type of cooking.
Hi! Thank you for sharing this information. It’s interesting to know that this is unique to N9. The taste is unforgettable and the cook in us love info like this. Cheers!😊
@@travelsandroadtrips the owner of beef noodle Yee Kee are cousins to the popular one in Seremban market. Everytime I go back to Seremban, I will head to the market as Seremban is my hometown. Seremban is also popular for Bee Hoon Sotong and Hakka Mee. Check it out when you are there again.
@ Hi! Thank you very much for the heads up! It’s always great to get recommendations from locals. We’ll definitely check out your recommendations. Have a blessed evening!😊
Was researching Pontian video for my upcoming trip, and came across your video, love your simple approach and down to earth explanation / introduction to the places you visit.
Hi! Thank you for kind feedback. So glad to know you enjoyed the video. Have a lovely trip to Pontian and also, have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year 2025! 😊🥳
Two of you surely know how to enjoy ... 👍 It will be better if you bother to write down the addresses and shops names (longer time for seniors/ retirement old folks to take note) and the prices etc. Of cos, after your recomend, we can check up in the website..., tks.
Hi! Thank you for checking out our videos. Except for the earlier videos(around September to December 2023), we have listed down the addresses and shop names in the Description section below each video(the area where UA-cam gave us space to write down details). Other than the coffee video, for the other food videos, we will indicate the total bill for each meal on the videos as well. But for future videos, we’ll also indicate the addresses on the videos instead of just the Description section below the video as perhaps people may miss out. Thank you for your suggestions and have a blessed day!😊
Excellent
Hi! Thank you! Glad you find it useful. Have a blessed Sunday😊
Kluang is home town of one of my friends. Kluang was the British HQ in Johor. The Chinese name is 居鑾. Which reveals its role as the British HQ as the second character 鑾 means Imperial (in the old days of British Empire). Nice introduction to makan places in Kluang.
Wow! That’s definitely an interesting fact to know about 居鑾👍🏻After reading your comments, we did abit of googling on the word 鑾too to understand more about it. Fascinating to know the historical significance behind the name of a place. Thank you for sharing!😊
@@travelsandroadtrips At the risk of me sounding long winded, actually 銅鑾鈴 was the Imperial chariot bell used in ancient China as long as 1046 BC Western Zhou dynasty.
Hi! Haha…not long winded at all!👍🏻We are history buffs too. Thank you for sharing this information and feel free to share more anytime. Have a blessed weekend!😊
Almost ate at Ah Yit at Taman Sentosa where you ate in this video. One of my friends was worried there was no crowd in the restaurant, so he thought not very good. Or he was worried about the price. Anyway, we ended up eating at Kang Bee Hong a few steps away. Also in Sentosa JB.
Hi! Ya understand it can be quite a put-off when there’s no crowd in the restaurant. Perhaps it’s a timing issue. The meal we had cost RM153.90 for 6 dishes with rather generous portion sizes so we thought it was good value. Anyway, hope you and your friends had a lovely meal at Kang Bee Hong and a great time in JB! Cheers!😊
One more thing. You kow the RTS LInk is scheduled for completion in end of 2026. Maybe you can do a series to introduce Singaporeans on the eatery places near to and slightly further away from the end point of the RTS MRT link in JB. There will be restaurants and hawkers sprouting up anticipating the flood of Singapore tourists.
Hi! Yes, that is an absolutely wonderful idea!! We’ll start researching and work on a video about this! Great tip!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Thank you so much!😊
My previous comments on your food blog were all deleted by UA-cam when I deleted my old UA-cam channel and created a new channel. This is a new comment. Kulai looks good for makan. But for Singaporeans may need a car to go there and then return to SG. Thanks for the very good history of Lei Cha.
Hi! Nice to hear from you!😊Hope everything went smoothly with the creation of your new UA-cam channel. We have not tried it before but I think it’s possible to take a bus from Sg to Kulai with a change of bus at JB Sentral Bus Terminal. Maybe one day we should give it a try and then do a video on it which may be helpful to some people. Glad you enjoyed the makan information on Kulai. Have a blessed evening!😊
Will be going in a few days to that area with my mum. Will check out the tea cafe and other places u mentioned! Thanks for the video! :)
Hi! You are most welcomed! Have an awesome time at Austin with your mum and God bless!😊❤️
Good information 👍
Hi! Glad you find it useful. Have a blessed evening😊

I love putu piring melaka👍Will buy a dozen in one go whenever I get a chance.
Hi! Indeed Putu Piring Melaka is a very highly raved putu piring amongst the locals. One of the ladies queuing before us told us her family has been eating their putu piring for more than 20 years. Thank you for checking out our video and have a blessed Sunday!😊
uncle, how do you tell if a parking lot requires you to pay for it? my problem is I don't see any signs most of the time
Hi! That’s a good question coz the signboards are sometimes quite obscure, written only in Bahasa Melayu(on hindsight, we should have mentioned this in the video) and many times they only place a single board for a huge parking area. So when we can’t see a sign board, we will use the parking app to detect the location area or road name. We will then tap on the indicated location, select whether we want to pay hourly or daily and the app will show the amount of parking fee required. Also rule of the thumb is, unless you are parking in a private estate area, shopping mall or prepaid parking, it is always safer to assume that the open air parking lot requires payment. It can be quite tricky at times coz we did encounter a situation before where the area used to be free parking(the Nanyang street area at Mount Austin)but after about a year, we were told that now parking payment is required via the MBJB Spot app. So we will just pay for parking with the apps whenever we are at any public parking space that’s not within a private development or shopping mall. Just to play safe. Hope this helps and have a blessed Sunday!😊
@@travelsandroadtrips i see! okay thank you very much. you too have a blessed Sunday!
Hi,sir May i know what is Location Services for on my phone
@FooYoonmoi Hi! Location services on smartphones like iPhones and android phones use GPS, wifi and Bluetooth to determine your phone’s location, which in turn is used by various apps to provide services like navigation, weather etc. So in the case of parking app, the location services will help to tell approximately where is your car parked at and this helps to determine how much is the parking fee etc. Hope this helps. Thank you for checking out our video and have a blessed day😊
