Gotta say I applaud you for even finishing the game. I gave up and was extremely pissed because this game was written on someone political views. And this game wasn't about you as the main character, it was Taash who literally was ur main character and kept ur dialogue choices in check after she criticized you for mis-gendering her. The game was DEI HR within the game to make sure you are being lectured.

Enjoyed hearing someone focus on the environment art. It's a part of games that often goes unmentioned.

i just don't understand how we got here. why do so many male gamers accept slop when they grew up on high-quality games made by teams of 10 random dudes in a tiny office who put their heart and soul into the games they made. why do female gamers pretend that games like Veilguard deserve a crusade-like defense when they loved games like Mass Effect 2 or Inquisition. i just don't understand what sort of psychological re-wiring we all received that made us all lower our standards so drastically for products that cost us TRIPLE DIGITS to purchase!!

Dragon age 2 had the best combat for me I was never into the turn based or real time with pause stuff It was a bit quicker and more visceral

You can tell it was meant to be a live service game during mid development. It just sucks. BioWare is dead. I'm looking forward to Archtype's Exodus

Good catch with the night time / day time changes. The sky looked extremely static, artificial and I get the feeling even Skyrim was able to create better ambience with its sky changes at the time and even years later when I played it.

For all those who rave about the graphics, those improvements are almost exclusively limited to the static environments. Great lighting, great resolution. But the character models still walk and turn like they did in Inquisition, despite the "10 years" they've had to improve. Your character still walks like a sailor who just took his turn in "the barrel" and now finds himself on dry land. The combat is boring and repetitive. The AI characters do almost no damage. And yes, you can set up combos, but you probably won't because you need to save those cooldowns for heal spells.

For all players who are looking for a well written RPG with relevant choices, interesting characters, a dark world and the possibility to play as an a*** ole, I highly recommend Warhammer 40k Rogue trader. Gem of a game in my humble opinion. ,

According to TIME magazine, Veilguard was game of the year. Their top ten list had a lot of problems too. I wonder which game series will we butcher next.

The moment they changed the game title from the dreadwolf to the Veilguard was the moment I had a feeling it was going down bad. Then the trailer dropped that looked like a fps shooter game in the design of fortnite. Characters get introduced to you through trailer with the cringiest titles "the dragon slayer" "the veiljumper (with probably the cringiest animation during the trailer)" And then I found out that the person who wrote the dialog is a person who bases their entire being, their entire personality on their diagnosis and identity. They have nothing else to them just that. When I saw the game I just dropped my last hope I had for games created by large companies. Skyrim came out so long ago and is to this day the best rpg imo. To imagine dragon age the cringeguard is still having positive reviews just tells that steam reviews never should be trusted because other games get negative reviews because you can buy items with actual money but you really don't have to. Meanwhile the veilfart doesn't allow for negative comments. You can't decide to not recruit someone,you're just forced to recruit companions which I think is because the devs knew we would most likely not recruit Taash and the dialog writer, who's self insert Taash is, would have their feefees hurt 🥺 They simplified the items to the max so you can't even have the fun of creating a well thought out and planned equipment. Also why are all the characters smiling all the fking time. That's so creepy. Nobody gives a flying fk about misgendering a NPC that nobody likes. They butcher characters You get thrown into the game with every character already knowing you and your character knows them but you as a player don't even know a thing. Like Varric gonna be like "oh remember when you did this" and you're sitting there feeling like a third wheel even though your character is supposedly that person they knew. Besides of having no character development, you also get thrown into battle as soon as the game starts. Like..? Character creation is bad Development none existent The quanri look like a fking joke (Iron Bull was my favorite in Dragon age Inquisition) And if we keep in mind how dragon age ended with the trespasser DLC.. And then you realize this is what we get. The disappointment is immeasurable. Idk how this piece of shit game has positive reviews on steam besides of bioware yes mem/women, paid reviews and people with no gaming experience reviewing this game. 3/10 is very generous in my opinion.. 8/10 for voiceacting is something I'd not agree with at all. The voice acting in this game is as bad as the dialog. There's only a few who tried to put their all into the game and then you get VA who just put nothing into it which was the majority in the game. But that's opinion based and I respect that. Personally my vote would be: Character animation: 1/10 (static eyes is something that hasn't been done in 20ish years. Even skyrim has eyes that do the little movements) Character Design: 1/10 Conbat: 3/10 Environment: 2/10 (static clouds and not moving trees kills it for me) Script: -100/10 Sound Design: 5/10 Voice Acting: 3/10 Immersion: -10/10 Fun: 0/10 Interactions: 1/10 The game isn't dragon age, the game is bad. Veilfart is a more fitting title imo.

I straight up killed the incubis/sucubis as being familiar with DnD I kind meta gamed there. I plan to do an evil playthrough at some point thats not the dark urge, and I might go that route. Stealing the hammer was kind of fitting to as I was a good alinged cleric that would not make deals with Raphael...the epic boss fight with him singing his own boss music was so worth it. Also of you talk to the skeleton who was the architect of Moonrise Towers by the rotting banquet table he tells you the archivist is terrified of authority figures.

In my honest opinion, it's not even a bad game Is it good, hell freaking no? The issue is they made a completely different type of game and disguised it as Dragon Age and threw six characters from previous games, destroying their character and personality in the process, or made them just there to chat about crap you already know, like if they just replaced those returning characters with random new characters, you wouldn't even realise it's a Dragon Age game.

It's so sad to see. I still remember DAO, got it on my 18th birthday, played a city elf, romanced Alistair, then at the Landsmeet, I proclaimed Alistair as King, with me as his elven Queen, which he obviously refused. So broken-hearted I refused Morrigans Ritual, killed the Archdemon myself, and in doing so ended myself as well. Seeing Alistair cry at my funeral was kinda satisfying. Probably finished it around 10times Then came DA II and I have to say, I didn't hate it. Was it better? No, but I still liked it. Or to be more exact, I liked what it could have been. Still finished it about 3 Times. Inquisition, looked good, I will give them that, but overall... I found it to be truly "average". Nothing special, but not bad either. Finished it only 1 time, never played the dlc´s. And now here we are, for Veilguard, and to tell you the truth, I never even thought about buying it. Still hurts my soul to see something this...soulless .... in a place where once great stories were told.

Once beloved franchised died because of ideology and completely wrong developers. Another "Bioware in name only" game thats just proves, this is no longer Bioware. Compare this to Pathfinder Rogue Trader, BG3, Witcher...this is a pile of shit compared to this.

Great guide you just need to let people know if they have games say on a 2nd drive that fluffy mod manager needs to be installed on the drive their game is on. I tried to install fluffy in any random folder (desktop) and it did not work until extracting to my 2nd m.2 so just a small thing to add.

I agree with most things. I first played Origins about ten years ago, since then I liked it and played it a couple more times. Then I discovered DA2 and it became my favorite just because of the themes it dealt with regarding the mages and the templars. DAI (my fav, I´ve played it like 10 times in xbox, ps3, ps4 and ps5), DAI was like the culmination where I saw almost all the consequences of the choices I made in the previous games, I fell in love with all the characters (Iron Bull and Viv were my favs), I fell in love with the narrative of the game and the lore of Solas, who was for a long time my favorite character/antagonist in video games. After so many years, DAV came out and the only thing it gave me was disappointment and sadness, the narrative that I loved disappeared, Solas took a backseat, most of the companions lacked charisma, it barely has RPG mechanics, not to mention my other problems with the environments, incomplete and left out plots, lack of decisions and goofy graphics (darkspawns are just awful). And all of this felt worse when I got to see the first concepts for the game. It's really sad to see what they did with one of my favorite sagas.

The nitpick with the clouds reminded my of my own issue with the new Indiana Jones, the game looks amazing it has path tracing and all that advanced tech but the night skybox is a 480p JPEG the stars look like blobs of white of different shapes its ridiculous and I'm genuinely interested to know how these decisions were made, who approved this haha.

Oh my god thank you for commenting on the subpar quality of the notes and lore entries. They were so soulless (no pun intended) - I kept reading through all of them but never once felt rewarded for it.. sometimes it was hard to tell what on earth they were even about. The only ones I enjoyed were the book reviews.

Ok I did a quick google search on the writer of DAV, his name is Patrick Weekes and to my utter surprise and complete shock PATRICK HAS BEEN AT BIOWARE SINCE 2005!! 🤯 And he has worked on almost all BioWare game titles and written 2 DA Novels! Both of which are very good!! And with 12 published works in total 🤯🤯🤯 he is an experienced writer! Not a new, fresh out of collage, I wrote my essays with ChatGPT kind of writer! This only raises more questions! What the hell happened at BioWare?!

Well, i agree with everything, but about night and day time together, i saw that in real life. It's possible in the FE model. Not in the globe model though. Anyway, you've gotta play The Legend of Dragoon. You'll totally love it. I'd even watch your entire Let's Play for this one. It's my absolute favorite game ever. I might be a bit biased here, but I'm not saying it's better than everything else; for me, it's number one, with Dragon Age: Origins and the Mass Effect Trilogy right behind at two and three.

All of the lack of detail, all the problems you’re noticing is the result of the industry as a whole. They hire inexperienced goons to meet some requirement of the studio, wether that be saving money or fake diversity for the sake of squeezing money out of investors. They pick them up at a cheaper rate to develop these games with intention of them learning along the way. It’s creating a brain drain in the industry. All of the experienced devs who are higher quality thus more expensive realize they can just work in other industries and not have to deal with the bullshit, they’ll go to movies, tv and other creative industries. So you’re left with inexperienced people more interested in introducing their own beliefs. There’s way more going on here, but I’m not trying to write a book. Nepotism, cronyism, ageism are all factors with no oversight.
