    As a tip, when checking for resistance after assembly, make sure the wires of the motor are not touching. This will put the motor in "brake mode" and may mislead you into thinking something is wrong.

    Can this be attached to a motor to be programmed? Also if it is pulling a weight up can it hold the weight at the top, or will it slowly drop back down?

      Oh the printer has an auto camera system and if you insert a MicroSD card a auto timelapse of a print system but it doesn't record the sound.but I bet you can find it online from my experience the sound isn't that bad and I highly suggest this printer fast and good quality prints.

    Why not use something like bambu labs PA-CF or another companies? After looking around at different nylon manufactures it looks like Onyx has the lowest tensile strength and is by far the most expensive.

      @@thethriftybot5299 let me know how it goes, my company uses a markforged m7 with onyx but we also have a bambu x1. comparing data sheets for the materials bambu PA-CF is 2x stronger than Onyx and polymakers PA-CF is about 3x stronger. Im planning on convincing my boss to let me try some out.

    Was this just to prove it can print onyx? Or compare quality to markforge printer?

    • @thethriftybot5299
      @thethriftybot5299 Рік тому

      Both! I'm going to try some other PA-CF filaments too, but if a team can buy a Bambu Labs 3D printer and get similar quality to a Markforged printer, it would be much more affordable and realistic for many teams.

    • @thorb5191
      @thorb5191 Рік тому

      @thethriftybot5299 2 mentors on our team have recently purchased bamboo x1 carbons, and the prints that have come off of them have been great. The only issue that came up was with Nylon X (Matterhackers pa-cf) . It warped a small amount but stuck to the build plate so good it actually lifted the plate off of the magnetic bed. That only happened once and hasn't happened with any other pa-cf. We found that if you run a filament drying cycle before printing, it ends up preheating the chamber and keeps the Nylon X from warping

    Just curious what was the grip length of the rivets? We will probably bolt them but just incase

    • @thethriftybot5299
      @thethriftybot5299 Рік тому

      This depends on this thickness of tubing you're using. Here I drilled this on a .100 piece of versatube. The plate is 1/4" thick so you'd need something with a grip range of at least .375. Here I think mine went up to 1/2". But if you're using thinner tubing like the 040 maxtube you would only need a rivet that covered the grip range of over .29".

    What prevents the constant force spring from spinning around? Is it because, as the spring is extended the inner diameter contracts to bind against the inner spacer?

    • @thethriftybot5299
      @thethriftybot5299 2 роки тому

      The roller that is inside it is more of just a guide / spacer for the overall assembly to keep things properly spaced. The end of the spring bolts to the bottom of the tube which ensures it cannot spin freely. Let me know if that helps.

      The assembly manual notes some things teams can do to ensure safe use. We are including a quick release pin with every order and recommend teams drill a hole through the stages when collapsed and then insert the pin during travel or leave the mechanism fully deployed when not in use.

    • @ryandognaux2518

      If you can't get any gap between your plate adjusting the thumbscrews then you need to adjust your Z-offset. That procedure can be found here: support.markforged.com/portal/s/article/Adjust-Z-Offset-Desktop
