    Just wanted to say thank you, it is hard to find useful information or videos in this field. my company did tower rescue training today and no one was aware of the effectiveness of this technique. I was rescuing someone that’s about 275lbs give or take and was able to safely lift them off their y-lanyard. After that the majority of people started using this method cutting the rescue time down by a lot.

    I don't recommend training your guys indoor on a scaffolding

      It is not scaffolding, watch the video again. It is two tower sections that are vertical and 1 tower section horizontal. I have trained at this facility, definitely not scaffold.

    Nicely done. First time Ive heard of force vectoring. What a cool technique. In 10 years Ive maybe done this 2-3 times before but never knew there was a name for it Good common sense having the rescue systems already put together so you just have to clip them on and go instead of carrying them up 300feet and putting them together while the victim is bleeding out.

    I want to see someone climbing up 150 ft with 2 bags of 300 ft of rope... how is that done when theres is only 2 guys up in the tower and none in the bottom?

      If both climbers are at height the rescue kit should be at their elevation.

      Once the first person gets to the working location, the two bags are pulled up to that location and tied off, then the second person ascends.

      once the rope grab is connected, you dont need the Y lanyard. so, take it off.

  • @UkrainianBazooka
    @UkrainianBazooka 5 років тому

    Osha is full of shit, you can have two things attached to dorsal d ring. You just need to have the gates facing opposite directions

    Thanks for the video! I tried using the Grillon as a pick off but was unsuccessful. I'm going to try the force vectoring that you showed! Looks like it should work fine!

      I figured it out...meant to post a follow up but thank you for the video. The force vectoring is the key as is keeping the Grillon sheath out of the way! Thanks again!

      SPRAT (maybe IRATA as well) requires two points of contact for rope work, would you consider an additional connection to the victim?

    • @pacificsafetysolutions7239
      @pacificsafetysolutions7239 8 років тому

      absolutely if time permits, a second connection point would be the best option.

      I know FD rescue and industrial rope access differ on many things, one strict for some issues and the other strict for different ones. Trying to make sense of it all. Thanks for the help!

    What would happen if your climber fell and activated the shock pack while the unused hook is attached to the pole strap point ?

      You descend him or her and that pack is no good. It needs to be decommissioned and given to safety coordinator. Write on pack bad and label it. If osha's finds it near other safety equipment and not labeled bad or decommissioned. Big fines coming your way.

    • @TheModularDiver
      @TheModularDiver 5 років тому

      That's correct. Deployed (activated) or not. Both the harness and lanyards were subjected to a fall and are required to be separated and flagged as unusable equipment.
