4:28, just a question; does this mean that I, as a male tenor, should not play baritone? Or at least that it should not be as easily suited to me as tenor sax would? Again I mean this in a genuine way not a sarcastic one sir.
10:30, and also, kind of in a similar vein, is it important to pursue the voice of a player on the same instrument? Say I play bari but I want to sound like Wayne Shorter, or anything like that. Maybe pursuing a sound of someone on the big horn but additionally any of the others in addition would be best?
not the old lady clapping on 1/3 during the bone solo 😭
Your playing truly inspires me by the way sir as a fellow baritone-ist!
Thank you Jason, wise and sincere. As long as we're remembered, we're never gone. Peace
Dope!
Yes!! Thanks!!
During the swing, big band, and Bebop era it seemed they figured out to play what sounded good and it lasted over 100 yrs without all the fancy talk and studies.

wow!!! you are amazing 👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥keep up the nice job!!
This crazy pandemic situation has brought me to here. I love this arrangement, soloing and the band ! Thank you for the nice music, Jason🌍
You really hear a big band arrangement here? No tutti, no different backgrounds behind the different soloists...
Sounding a lot like Pepper Adams here!

Hey Jason. This is so cool. I also play bari and love to fix up the old road bikes. Thanks!

Thank you so much this really helps me in my own understanding on how I learn and listen and speak the music I hear in my head and making it LIVE!!! Once again thank you very much. God bless you sir. This has really open my mind and heart and spirit.
Thank you Jason looking forward to some more pearls of wisdom!
I look forward to more of your videos in the near future. Something different for the different learner/player/student/participant.
Great content Jason! My father sang to me everyday too and I think that was the best blessing of all. Looking forward to more videos!
Thank you Jason for sharing your knowledge and experience. Please keep it coming.
When you talked about the sound being “round or pointed” that just open my mind about this!! Thank you sir. I’m looking for my of your insight. God bless you sir🎺🎷
Thank you - sound do it 🎺🎷let it fly get it together
Love it! And I agree sound is king.
Thank you for doing this :) and thanks for feeling like you could “stretch out” as it were and take your time. So cool!
Dude I didn't know you played tenor like this!! I love all the Sonny Rollins influence, among others haha. And love your sound!!
Hey Jason! I don't know if you remember, but back in 2017, at that jam session up in Logan UT, I was the bari player who showed up from the University of Utah (where Kris Johnson was still teaching at the time). We played Blues For Alice together! After the jam you advised me to work on transcribing the likes of Hank Mobely instead of the Brecker solo I was working on at the time, so that I could better comprehension of the language of bebop vs just playing the hardest, fastest lines I could find. And that advice has worked wonders with my playing. Thanks for the advice; you sound fantastic as always and this video's super cool!!
Yes sir I felt the same when I was in college. Write a booklet! 🎷🎺blessings minstrel.
Great message Jason. Hey from an old friend in Canada!
Thank you for your support and attention.
