Im glad there's a community that loves and appreciates all of the little side things that makes this game so special important to them like I do.

Gotta say your video on Super Mario Galaxy made me think about my childhood like never before again dude. I miss those days, but I gotta just say thank you for such great content and can't wait for more!

I’ve always thought that part of the reason this game is so memorable is due to how surprisingly complex and emotionally rich it is. The orchestral music, story line and creativity put in is something that should be exposed to small children from a young age! In a similar manner, many of the best kids movies are so nostalgic and memorable for this same reason. Think Kung Fu Panda (oogway ascends scene), How to train your dragon (soundtrack), Wall-E with the storyline just to name a few. I reckon as you get older, you appreciate these pieces more. I also think that complex and beautiful creations should be exposed to people from a young age as it fundamentally shapes how you see the world. So glad I grew up with high quality content rather than UA-cam shorts and brain rot cartoons.

Crazy that Mario Kart 8 is that old. Personally I've only ever played MKwii aside from a few moments playing Mk8 over at a friend's place. It was always "Yeah sure but if we were on the Wii I would smoke you" and I was always right lol

i know this is my third comment but in your last race where it looked a bit shady wen you got hit and some guy got hit but didnt come to a stop is just poor gamedesign. People are not on the same spot for everybody. So you got that guy got hit on your screen but not on his so the game didnt register it as a hit. PS thanks for the shoutout (at least i think it was for me). Again sorry for yapping a bit too much.

The UA-camr now settles into a rhythm of content creation, but soon finds that most of his videos are enjoyed by very few. The algorithm has given its blessing to some of his videos, but was it enough to grow a committed audience?

There was nothing cooler at the time than creating and playing as your Miis in Wii Sports. You could play Bowling as Peter Griffin, go Golfing as Squidward, and have Iron Man fight Kermit the Frog in Boxing. The developers added so many fun ideas and gameplay elements that helped bring everything together into one of, if not the greatest, casual video games for anyone to play!

And now we have Earthmover in Ultrakill, which I consider the sequel to Megaleg (not counting diggaleg since you don't climb them but they're still fun). I love climbable bosses with the key to defeat it being at the top. Feels great after you take it down aswell. Not to mention the Violence layer came out on my birthday too. I guess I am a little biased ;)

I remember getting this game along with Mario Kart Wii when I was younger (I was probably 6 or 7) and could not for the life of me get past the first Galaxy. I still have distinct memories of getting stuck on the planet in Dino Piranha with the big rolling boulders you have to spin in the small red spot to break. I would die there over and over and over again and eventually gave up. However, the absolute magic of the game’s opening and the entirety of the first mission (Gateway Galaxy) stuck with me. Not only that, but playing Mario Kart Wii, with all of its various pieces adopted from Galaxy, steered me back towards the game again and again. And eventually, I got better. I got past those big rolling boulders, fought Dino Piranha, and worked my way through the game. I don’t remember much of that initial full playthrough, but the game stuck with me. It stuck with me for so long that eventually I went back and replayed the entire game, this time with the goal of 100%ing it. Yes, even with Luigi. And I did it. Years later, with the release of 3D All-Stars, I did it again. And I did it one more time just last year. I’ve completely 100%’d Super Mario Galaxy three separate times and it still remains one of the most touching and consistently, stellarly fun experiences I’ve ever had PERIOD, and my appreciation for the game only grows and grows with each subsequent playthrough. Your video here illustrated my love for this game so perfectly. It came at just the right time in my life and formed what I view to be peak platforming potential in a video game. Nothing else even compares (except maybe Galaxy 2… lol)
