How To Make Grandmas Hershey Bar Pie!! 😋😋
This pie recipe was given to me when I was 17. My mother hosted a Pie Party one night and one of her co-workers brought this pie. That was it...pie-love at first taste! I have been making this recipe every holiday since. This recipe lives on in the family cookbook from 1981 and is the pie that is a must-bring to events. Most recently I was asked to make it for one of my grandchildren's school Christmas parties. This child had the option to bring anything for the party but requested that I make Hershey Bar Pie. Needless to say, it was a smash hit!
INGREDIENTS:
GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST:
2 Pkgs Graham Crackers - hand crushed
2 Sticks Butter- Melted Separately
FILLING:
1 Baker's Unsweetened Chocolate Square
6 Hershey Bars (with nuts or without)
25 Marshmallows
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 tsp Vanilla (optional)
1 Pkg Dream Whip - prepared using package directions
TOPPING:
1 Pkg Dream Whip - prepared using package directions
STEP 1:
Hand crush 2 Pkgs Graham Crackers and combine with 1 stick melted butter Place crumb mixture in pie plate and press into shape, then
drizzle 1 more stick melted butter over graham cracker crust - especially the sides, toast at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown
STEP 2:
In double boiler, combine 1 square unsweetened Baker's chocolate, 6 Hershey Bars, 25 Marshmallows, 1/2 Cup Milk, and 1/2 tsp vanilla (if using)
Stir constantly until melted then place pan in an ice bath
STEP 3:
While chocolate mixture is cooling in the ice bath, make 1 Pkg Dream Whip using package directions, combine prepared Dream Whip with cooled Chocolate mixture
STEP 4:
Pour filling into toasted Graham Cracker crust and place in refrigerator overnight
STEP 5:
Make 1 Pkg Dream Whip using packing directions for topping or enjoy without topping
TIPS:
1. You can use a prepared Graham Cracker crust or even a regular crust, but we prefer the texture and flavor of hand crushed Graham Crackers. This, combined with the decadent amounts of butter in the crust add flavor that can't be found in other types of crust.
2. You must count the marshmallows - 25 every time - no more no less. The little-one's love helping count them out! I treasure my memories of kids and grandkids counting them out- especially when the count got lost and we had to start over with giggles and groans!
3. You can use the Hershey Bars with Almonds if you like nuts. My original recipe calls for Hersheys with Almonds, but some members of my family don't like nuts, so I switched to the plain Hershey Bars decades ago.

I just use a banana cream jello pudding mix with one tub of coolwhip mixed into the pudding. I cut the bananas up and mix it in the pudding before i create my wafer layer, then the mix then top with another cool whip drizzle with leftover wafer crumbs for aesthetic

Just put this cake in the oven but I had 3 very sad granny smith apples left over so I chopped them up and cooked them down in a sprinkle of apple juice. Brown sugar and cinnamon and put just a little less white sugar. The apple liquid was around a cup so I replaced the milk with it Will edit when cake is out of the oven

How important is it to use fresh squeezed lemons vs extract?
Fresh is always better. I have never used artificial lemon in this recipe so can’t say for sure but I would imagine it would work in a pinch.

I used a bunch of spices, some garlic, and chicken! That’s all I can remember right now! I was too busy helping make the chicken to record how to make it. Sorry about that but we hope you enjoy our content!
What are the best kind of apples to use?
Granny Smith’s work great for a blend of tart and sweet. Back in the day, my mom used whatever red apples were available at the store and they made delicious caramel apples. In the video, we used Granny Smith and Honey Crisps. My suggestion is to use your favorite apple!
