Gospel of Mary…? That’s not a thing in anyone’s Bible fellas.
Correct, it is not apart of the canon we hold as foundational.
2 Timothy 3:16 needs the previous verse in order to be correctly understood. Verse 15 - "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." What Scriptures did Timothy have from his youth? He had the Torah and the Prophets. THEY are the Scriptures Paul is saying are "doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" This is confirmation that the Law is STILL to be observed by anyone who wants to live a life that is pleasing to the Father. Paul was not saying, "what I am writing to you now is Scripture." He would not have been so arrogant as to think that. He was well educated in the Law, and that is what he taught. It is what he lived. Protestantism is a variation of Catholicism. While some things have been rejected, all of the doctrines of Protestantism started in the Roman Catholic Church. Modern Christianity is the Babylon out of which YHVH is calling us. Revelation 18:1-6
The desire was to bring the catholic church back reformed, but was unwilling to change. That is what caused the split which created what we call today protestantism and eventually led to the Bible being translated to English and now many more languages, so that ALL may know God's word for themselves. The torah was all that Paul would have had. The new testament did not exist. The same way that nothing existed before the old testament. We now have both, and learn and grow from both.
@@alteredyouth3247 That's all well and good. However, you didn't address the main point I made. In the passage you cited, Paul told Timothy that the Torah is the instructions for righteousness, correct doctrine and how to walk this life in a godly manner. Modern Christianity ignores what he said. Paul wrote quite a bit of the NT, so claiming he didn't have it is a bit disingenuous. He lived it. He was there. Everything in the NT supports observance of the Feasts of YHVH and obedience to the Law. However, the philosophy introduced by Rome twists Scripture into a condemnation of obedience to the Father's instructions. Protestantism never touches that. Jesus obeyed His Father perfectly. Following Him would be trying to do the same. Modern Christian teachers will cite syncretism as inherently dangerous to Christianity. Yet, none addresses the syncretism that created the Roman church. The Roman sun god clergy had to address the fact that faith in a Jewish deity was undermining their authority in Roman society. After fighting unsuccessfully, they simply hijacked it. They removed Sol Invictus, installed Jesus, and kept everything as it was. Pagan Roman converts went along with it because they didn't have the knowledge to combat it. That is the syncretism that must be undone. Every Christian religious observance is a renamed sun god festival. If anyone in the Roman religious hierarchy had understood the Old Testament they would have known that doing that is an abomination. They knew nothing of Hebrew thought, religion, language or culture. Yet, they managed to position themselves as the unimpeachable authority over the faith in its Messiah. At one time in my life I believed much as you do. I grew out of it by removing the Roman lens and letting Scripture speak for itself. The Bible says Yeshua is the Passover Lamb, not the Easter ham.
um … 8 cyclical holy days in the Bible like a sign of an everlasting covenant Creator & His calendar … Protestantism observes 0 of these generally, tho Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today, & forever
Best personal question "Is it adding eternal value to your life?"
AMEN!
