For this shield, I used 1/2in thick plywood. You could use 3/8in or 3/4in, if you already have that on hand, though!

Hi and thanks for the compliment!! Honestly, I do shave my head because I'm losing hair due to a medical condition, but I don't do it because of people's judgement. I do it because I like the look and "if I'm losing hair, I'm doing it on my terms" kind of mindset, if that makes sense? Besides, it gives me an excuse to grow out my beard 😂

We made a deal if she helped me out with my Pokemon video (the year before this) I'd help her do this one. I didn't really have many "lines" so I said why not. Honestly, part of the reason I said yes was just so I could experience "having hair" again 😂

There aren't any planks. This was all out of one sheet of any decent plywood. I used a wood burning tool to make it look like there were planks.

There is a 1/2in gap between each hole on the 4in wide rawhide. A 1/2in gap from each hole in the row as well as a 1/2in gap from row 1 and row 2.

From the edge of the board, that is 1/2in as well.

@@NordicHammerJ the bread was actually a lot better than I was expecting it to be. I enjoyed it. I put honey on some and blackberry jam on others. Personally, I thought it was delicious. I would definitely eat it again anytime.

I know it's not historically accurate by any means, but I saw it was on sale for $20 and I thought I'd risk it. I'm glad I did. I was surprised that it was fairly good quality and fits me perfectly, too.

I would compare it more to when you make pie crust by hand in a bowl, but yeah, that's the overall concept. A lot of folding, kneading, and repeating like what our grandparents use to do. When weather/time allows, I'd be more than happy to make an outdoors version of this video, though! Thanks for the interest!
