    Wow!! Its human nature to take something extremely simple and make it ultra complicated and stupid. Bravo to you buddy, for perpetuating beach umbrella retardation

    I dig I dig I dig, I reach deep damp sand, I push it in the sand, I cover it with the damp sand I removed, never budges :D

    I use an anchor and also tie one end of a piece of paracord to the umbrella and the other to the umbrella bag filled with sand, and put the sandbag against the pole.

    I was just at the beach on Monday with a brand new umbrella with NO instructions as to how to install safely. Needless to say we ended up having to leave the umbrella on the ground. I'm ripping that point off as soon as I get home. Thank you for sharing!

    Great skill to learn. I was looking for a better way to tie up cardboard bundles in a way that it can hold the stack nice and secure. Even with 0.25x speed, the trick was fast to learn. But finally watching after 15 times and trial and error, I mastered it. Now it will be useful to me and others for many years to come. Thanks

    Awesome Bob! Panama City Beach is 3 hours away from me. I'll check out the beach store, season winding, should be some good sales. Bob? How about a line of "Bob Calleja Custom Mermaid Beach Umbrellas" ! Love that mermaid umbrella! Thanks for the Pro tip!

    When you say “into the wind” does that mean >>>>/ or >>>>\ ? (arrows are wind slashes are umbrella)

    • @Ryuux1
      @Ryuux1 2 роки тому

      You want to lean the umbrella against the wind else it probably will get out pretty quickly (: so it should be >>>>>\. I am going to try this tomorrow at the beach! I hope it will work so I don't need to buy any umbrella anchor (: Thank you for sharing this!

    • @Mat-fw1ky
      @Mat-fw1ky 2 роки тому

      @@Ryuux1 thanks for the clarification on that... I was also thinking what might work well is to put a recycle bag through the umbrella shaft before you drive it into the sand then fill the recycle bag with sand and tie the handles around the shaft and you have extra insurance

    • @Ryuux1
      @Ryuux1 2 роки тому

      Update! it won't work if you are very close to the sea since the sand underneath is starting to be wet and it will stop the umbrella pole to go deep ): I will give it one more try next time just for fun if I am not close to the sea (:

    Let’s remember, there are a lot of products out there that (try to) do this! My method is 100% free, it has no additional bulky parts or things to pack and loose! It is also much (MUCH) quicker!!! The hardest part of this is being brave enough to take the point off! ( and if you don’t like it…. Put it back on!) Try it, have fun, be safe!

    Very cool. So few today have any competency with string, but I suppose it's been the go to fastener for most history. I think these self tightening knots are what's missing for most people.

    • @bobcalleja8416
      @bobcalleja8416 2 роки тому

      Yes Ashley, I believe it is called a baker’s knot. It’s like having an extra hand! A secure tie, in any case and works on heavier cord or rope even- Thanks for your input

      My dad knows how to tie all kinds of knots. Unfortunately, he never showed me how to do any of them lol. Now I am 29 years old and am referring to these videos, I hope to use the teaching of this video as an ice breaker to finally ask him how to do all the other knots he knows.
