Sentosa Island SINGAPORE'S ULTIMATE GETAWAY! 🇸🇬 (Cable Cars, Stunning Beaches & Rich History)
DESCRIPTION:
Sentosa Island is the perfect escape from Singapore’s busy city life! We started our day by walking to Mount Faber Peak, where we took in some amazing 360° views before hopping on the cable car to Sentosa. The ride itself was an experience, gliding over skyscrapers and spotting landmarks like Universal Studios Singapore, Adventure Cove, and the cruise pier.
Once on the island, we went straight to SkyHelix Sentosa, an open-air ride offering epic panoramic views (plus, the passion fruit smoothie included was a nice touch!). From there, we took another cable car to Siloso Point, where we explored Fort Siloso... Singapore’s only preserved coastal fort. Walking through history here was both fascinating and humbling.
To wrap up the day, we jumped on a free beach shuttle to Palawan Beach, home to stunning white sands, palm trees, and a famous suspension bridge. Honestly, we could’ve spent days here-there’s just so much to do!
Stay tuned for our next vlog as we leave Singapore and fly to Tokyo, Japan to kick off a marathon of daily vlogs!

    • @andrew_patrycja
      @andrew_patrycja 9 днів тому

      Thanks for the info! Maybe we were just unlucky that time. I actually asked the ticket conductor where the bistro/café cart was so I could buy a coffee, and she told me there wasn’t one on this train. That’s when she offered us, and another Swedish passenger who was also asking, some carton water instead. Out of curiosity, do they normally include a meal on first-class regional trains?

    AHa , using the old slow train . So nostalgic. Use to sit at that open door in the 1970s ( Was a teenager then) for more than 4 hours because the train was so overcrowded. There is no AC in the train . By the end of the journey, the body smells like soot and dust😊😅

    A fraction of the ticket price is subsidized by the government to encourage public transportation usage. Normally the Malaysian Railway (Ktmb) made more profit from the freight/cargo services. - During WW II, fierce battle took place near Gemas between Australian & Japanese armies, at Sungai Kelamah bridge, to be exact.

      It’s incredible to hear, 2025 onwards is going to be very promising for Malaysia. While I’ll definitely miss the charm of the old diesel trains, it’s exciting to see Malaysia making such big strides with these projects. A year later you would be able to travel by a much faster electric train service from the east coast city of Kota Bahru to Kuala Lumpur once the ECRL network is complete.

      @@andrew_patrycja You’re welcome to come back and visit. So overall we will have 3 types of trains in the future for the southern region (ETS+Komuter Selatan+Old train). For the East Coast they have like shuttle train (more like commuter services + that newly launched Jungle train) + the usual old train from JB to Kelantan as well. Don’t forget to experience our new ECRL train as well which will be opened in 2027 (same goes to RTS via causeway border JB/Singapore).

      @andrew_patrycja as this was back in 2002 and 2003 I have lost contact with my friend from Johor Bahru now. But last time I contacted him he was planning to move to Singapore to get better work. Also back when I used to ride those KTM intercity trains they used to run through to the historic Singapore station that closed in 2011. I probably rode those trains about 40 times over 2 years I lived in Malaysia

Thought something seemed familiar until I realised that the train has the same seats we used to have on our high speed trains in Germany and still do on some that have not been refurbished. In the UK, for example, our biggest coffee chain replaced their cozy leather sofas with hard wooden chairs to keep people from lingering too long 😂 It’s been a while since we last traveled on German trains, but they always stood out for their efficiency.
