Andy Warhol's TV cable shows from 1979-87 are a real taste of the era... full of fashion, fame, music and glamour Personal highlight - Interview with Divine and John Waters (Episode 2) You can watch them here though the download links have been removed: zambonisoundtracks.blogspot.com/2009/07/andy-warhols-tv-1980-1981-1987.html
Faaaaarewellllllll😢
The Queen Is Dead brought me here.
I always thought the recording was from the 1940s
LIFE IS VERY LONG WHEN YOU’RE LONELY
Life is very long when you’re lonely.
Morrissey sent me here.....
the queen is dead boys and it's so lonely on a limb
F*** Morrissey AND The Smith's
literally everyone here loves the smiths, if it was super unpopular I bet you'd love them
"He had us in the first half"

Somebody must have these (and also his first series "Fashion") digitized for watching somewhere! I see that the first 4 episodes were once on megaupload (ha!). The Warhol museum has the originals, I guess, and probably enforces copyright on them, but why not sell them for a couple bucks? At least then people could see them and they could make some money. No point in having video that most people will never see.
Also starring another famous Mancunian, Pat Phoenix, cover of The Smiths 'Shakespeare's sister'
Well, now the queen is indeed dead!
Elsie Tanner brought me here
… the Queen is dead
I said Charles don't you ever crave, to appear on the front of the Daily Mail, dressed in your muthers bridal veil
The Queen Is Dead
Max Fosh's gold fosh (first)
*sigh* he's been dead since forever but he's still my boyfriend, I don't care
"Blighty" - one of many Indian words to make it into British vocabulary. First used by soldiers in the Indian army; Anglo-Indian alteration of Urdu bilāyatī meaning "foreign" or "European", evolving as an affectionate term for Britain.
Oh has the world changed or have I changed?
”Life is very long when you are lonely.”
This is just so bri'ish
Innit!!!!1
After some 36 years I finally know what that intro was from.
by land, by sea, farewell to this land's tuneless marshes
"But the rain never flattens my hair..."
farewell cheerless marshes
All their lies about makeup and long hair….are still there
Never understood why they didn't cut it after '... Don't care' but seeing this now it makes profound sense
Perfectly chosen by Morrissey, it sounds like they stop singing because of the feedback/drums coming in
@d R You might want to look into the history of the band in question before going in guns blazing like that.
@@green-isaac-ii Yeah no shit. The song is a response to the movie and the scene. Not vice versa. How foolish and naïve.
@@Eric_In_SF You're so cute when you're angry
So I broke into the Palace With a sponge and a rusty spanner She said: "Eh, I know and you cannot sing!" I said: "That's nothing, you should hear me play piano!"
We can go for a walk where is quiet and dry and talk about precious things
@@teomondoscrofalo6052 like love and law and poverty?
@@Sisyphos420 These are the things that kill me
When listening to this I’m used to Mike Joyce drumming
Charles don't you ever crave, to appear on the front of the daily mail, dressed in your mother's bridal veil 👰
does anybody know where I can watch these??
No but same I’m trying to find them online and I can’t
Cicely Courtneidge was a star of musicals in the 1930s and 1940s. The old lodging house scenes are very poignant. In this movie I think she plays a character whose girlfriend died during the war.
not a great artist but super hhrr
now what makes you say that
Or has the world changed or have I changed?

Farewell to this land's cheerless marshes. Hemmed in like a boar between archers
Twisted
Admit it, who has the drum intro in their head or is doing it with their fingers at the end of this?
Let's be honest. We're all here because of The Smiths.
@Heretic whippersnappers? The Smiths are an 80s band. I doubt the term 'whippersnapper' applies here.
@Heretic then again, maybe you were being sarcastic - I couldn't tell.
I'm here because of Lynne Reid Banks RIP.
The who?
Wrong. Bloody kids.
Life before Covid
Life with the best (in my view) NYC skyline...
Hey, Lady: I Know you, and you cannot sing...
That's nothing...
You should hear me play piano...!!

Who is not here because of The Smiths???? Probably nobody!
Has the world changed or have I changed?
Begging your damn pardon, I'm not here because of the Smiths!
@@madeleinebaier5347what are you here for then????
@michaelgarebian3859 that's none of your business.
Never knew "Blighty" meant England.
A “blight” or a wound dubbed “blighty” by soldiers was what got them sent home
FAREWEEEEEEEEELL
Hey look it's Joseph Sisko.
what's the name of the music?!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...boom boom boomba boom boom boom boomba boom...
