I'm all for spiritual belief in whatever form that takes but religions tend toward dangerous when they have an us vs them mentality or give their followers some sense od entitlement such as being chosen or special and therefore everyone else is therefore lesser and not worthy to them or their god(s) which just sows seed of hatred fear violence isolation and leaves no room for growth or development to explore your beliefs and apply them to more modern situations and society. Obviously thats why branches happen in any and well every belief. People see the flaws and inconsistences or just the jarring affect in the modern world and tend to realise theyd be closer to their beliefs and higher power if they allowed "space for grace" or were more open minded and adapted some smaller things and left the core important beliefs the same while allowing for their word and beliefs to be spread shared and grow with love. Funnily enough i found a second hand jewish cookbook which is what led me to find out more about them as a people and the beliefs that gave life to the food and preperation and belief behind them. When youre open you let love and light in, you dont need to be religious to do so or even spiritual.
