We start with spanish rice and tell you how to make arros con pollo as well. It's not too hard. This recipe is so easy and classic. Another recipe passed down from generation to generation. I hope you enjoy! In Mexican cooking there are some key ingredients that will always make it Mexican food: cumin, garlic, onion, and tomatoes or a variation of these ingredients. Get these together in a meal...

When I would make enchiladas, I got so frustrated that the tortillas would break... so, I started to layer it 'lasagna style', with tortillas, sauce, shredded chicken, tons of cheese & black olives.

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe! I've tried others and while good they still fall short of that RGV Tex mex flavor I've been chasing. I think it's mainly the add no water idea. The gravy is mostly from the meat and vegetables. It's almost like my mom's but like she would say. Esta en la Mano. I'm sure yours is better as well but it's close enough for me. Love it! The only small difference I did was that I used a molcajete to grind cumin, black pepper and garlic so I needed a little water to get if off the molcajete. It smells amazing! My mom has dementia and is 90 so I can't get her recipe. But this one is The one for sure! Thanks again ❤ P.S. I will be deleting the other you tube recipes in my library lol Cheers from Mcallen Tx!

I was searching for a recipe and you popped up on my feed. You're such a lovely lady and I could tell you cook with your heart. Cannot wait to try this because I actually trust you and believe you. So many cook on here just to make a video and you can tell they have never made the recipe or just making a viral version and they have no clue. I like honest real cooking. So many recipes are so complicated and you broke it down and made it so easy. Just like the blue ribbon place correcting your recipe because someone said it wasn't enough liquid. They don't follow the recipe, do their own thing and then complain a recipe doesn't turn out. Thank you so much!

You added a flour slurry, 2 part flour and 1 part liquid , then add to the beef. A roux is 1 tablespoon of flour mix with 1 tablespoon fat and whisk until golen brown then liquid into the roux and simmer until mixture thickens.

I watched the longer video of this a few days ago, and bought what I needed to make this. I would love to put it all together in my slow cooker, do you think, that would work? Say 6-8 hours on low?? I also don’t think I have a pot, with a thick enough bottom, to prevent burning. I did end up using my crockpot to make this. It’s almost done, just added the flour mixture, but of course had to taste, as long as the lid was off, already. It’s fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing. I cut up my chuck roast, pepper, tomato, onion, garlic, added the salt, pepper, & cumin. Tossed a bit, with a wooden spoon. Set crockpot on high, and went about my day. Stirred it about an hour later. Now it’s been 2hr 25 min, and I pulled out a spoonful to taste, yum. Turned down to low, and added the roux, to thicken. Looking forward to this meal.
