7:00: A corollary I have heard is "Heavy money corrupts heavily".
I was born in 67 so I grew up on the reruns of TOS. I was hooked from the start because there was a profound sense of seriousness that pulled me in even though I was a kid. It didn't seem corny to me at all, it seemed like a show that was trying to convey a message to the masses. Watching now in my old age at 57 I still get completely pulled into certain episodes because they were so well written and acted. I miss the days when we only had a few channels and great content as opposed to today where we have a gazillion channels with garbage for content. Thank you for posting those clips, wise words indeed in all of them!
A show a little before its time, but OHH if only more money, more viewers, more acceptance of : writers, producers, composers. If only Star Trek could have finished the 5 yr. mission,a show for the ages, for all times. And, in spite of all that, it rose out of the ashes of seclusion, rejection, dismissal, turning down, deserving of such, but what could have been.
Deserving of such recognition
What an excellent physician, welcome your new captain to the command of USS Enterprise and then Roofie him 🤣🤣🤣
"All I... ask... isatall... ship..." 😆
These were all Good clips and meaningful! However there is one episode called Bread and Circus where Rome Never fell but the best clip would have been at the end the landing party all back on board McCoy reflected wondering why this Roman government followed what acegent Rome of earth followed with the one minott point they in this Rome followed sun gods Ugula MADE a great point it's not the sun in the sky but. SON OF GOD KIRK SAYING THEY' HAVE BOTH CEZEAR AND CHRIST AND RIGHT NOW THE WORD OF GOD' JUST NOW BEGINS WOULDN'T IT BE WONDERFUL TO COME BACK AND WITNESSES IT ALL OVER AGAIN!
The wisdom of Gene Roddenberry.
What I'm worried about is who is Lee Kwan?
2:35 he totally reminded me of Captain Pike in this scene. Tired of life
Spock & Bones arguing like brothers - that’ll never get old 😂😂😂
Even ppl who claim to “hate” Star Trek have learned life lessons from this classic
4:29 this weird implication that they don't have amusement parks in the future. I would think they would be especially important in the socialist utopia -- bread and circuses.
"In our century, we have learned not to fear words." -Lt. Uhura
I clicked on this not expecting class to be in session, I have gone away a wiser woman.
5:50
Let's get the hell out of here.
Why is that so endlessly true, that, 'having is not so pleasing a thing after all, - as wanting; it is not logical, but it is often true:. Fantasy will always be the much greater destination than anything in life.
"We've learned not to fear words" Too bad we have forgotten that now :(
McCoy takes a shot easier than Kirk. Hahahaha go McCoy!
And this exemplifies what is lacking in modern iterations of Trek, especially the JJ Abrams schlock. They've traded wisdom and introspection for explosions and mindless action. I wonder what sort of monologue Kirk would have for this situation.
great editing, thank you!
From Captain Kirk's reaction , it probably wasn't Dr. Pepper in that glass.
5:40 The best portrayal of Abe Lincoln on screen ever?
"A charming Nigress." Cut to: Federation Cities on fire.
Original Star Trek was a classic and it taught many good lessons Lucille Ball was a genius for taking a chance on it a tidbit of wisdom I alias held onto was from Spock to Ston ..."In time you may find that having is not so pleasing as wanting "... it's true
Absolutely brilliant! How could anyone down-vote this?!
Emily Banks was a doll. I want to go back in time and marry her. 😅
Captain Pike and Captain Kirk are two great characters. 😮 I didn't know that, Freddy.
😅This is the notorious episode where Lieutenant Sulu had a cross species affair with a trans Klingon officer resulting in the Lieutenant hobbling around the bridgedeck of the Enterprise....he was unaware of the incompatibility of their reproductive respective organs. Sulu was severely reprimanded by Mr Spock for the lapse in discipline. The medical office had to give Mr Sulu several pass overs with his diagnostic instrument.....the main perceived problem by Bones was Sulus rectum which had been "klingoned" ....
Words........reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
1:31 - TNG Relics - Scotty telling Picard about feel of the deck plates.

You see, in our century, we've learned not to fear words. Oh, if it were only true in 2023... Hurtful words only have power because we allow them to and those who use them only use them because we have empowered those words. Something we continue to do, with every move to cancel people or channels because of a word we only add more power to that word. If we could somehow elevate ourselves or train ourselves to not give that sort of power to a word, the use would wilt away like an unwatered potted plant on summer asphalt.
Very good of you Spock, we may make a human of you yet. I hope not!
"I still maintain that computers are more efficient, not better."
Captain Kirk was quoting from the c. 1902 John Masefield poem: 'Sea Fever'...😉
And the same bit gets used again several films later.
