Las Vegas takeoff 01L, awesome Strip views!

Departing to the north. I’ve done this takeoff a lot at night but not much during the day and never when heading westbound. 35 mph wind gusts out of the north allowed for this spectacular view. LAS-LAX, filmed from seat 2A of an Embraer 175.
Spectacular Landing in Honolulu 26L

A strong front and Kona Winds just ahead of our arrival gave us the opportunity to land to the west providing amazing views of Diamond Head, Waikiki, and downtown Honolulu. Delta 1664, MSP-HNL, February 11 2017, Seat 2J.

Not trying to self advertise, but it's awesome that we both posted different angles of the goal! I was behind the net close down to the ice and had my camera rolling.

I just watched your video, very nice! When the Wild went on the 4-on-3 I decided to roll it too. Fun moment!

It was February and the end of a 9 hour flight from Minneapolis. Pretty sure they were just excited to be in Hawaii.

Been to Honolulu several times as well as a couple of the islands. Indeed a great place to visit as well as retire. BUT have to be honest… just could not except the hateful attitude of some of the Chinese and Asian people there. It was so bad so will never visit again.

I can’t disagree with you there. Usually we’re just passing through Honolulu on the way to another island. But the North side of Oahu, away from the city, is pretty great too.

For some reason the algorithm is recommending this video from 2017 to a lot of people lately. The comments are fun to see! Several have noted they’re still looking for the “spectacular” part of the landing. While I agree that was probably hyperbole I do think it’s a pretty cool approach. I still haven’t landed this direction since this day in many trips back. The spectacle was referring to the approach and not the actual touchdown but I probably could have worded it better. Anyway, thanks for watching and hope you enjoy the unique views of Waikiki and downtown Honolulu!

For me, I am more the type that wonders when the last time the volcanic crater seen at the shore at 0:10 erupted. Same for the one that can be seen popping out of the middle of the city like at 01:50. Probably thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of years ago. Certainly not recent.

Landing on the reef runway from that direction, allowing different view of Honolulu is extremely rare...Some would call it, more unusual than spectacular.

its rare to land to the west on the coral runway and also get low level views of Waikiki and downtown.. those are usually done on departure given the winds 95% of the time.
