hey so im going into my second year but havent learned DSA yet, any good yt channels to learn it before hand so i can actually start doing mediums the way it was meant to be done because for now I can only get easy done and even then im in the bottom 50%
Bro you should edit out the silence in your videos and you should talk more, might not be your thing but with your consistency in video uploads I’m pretty sure you’ll gain a good amount of subs
this was my very first hard problem when i first started. took 2 hours and still didn't solve it 😂 got mind blowned by how elegant and simple the solution was
It would be better if you could clearly explain the problem and solution. Kind of helping viewers on how u're thinking... how you reached to solution... so that viewers can learn something
I love the relaxed way you want to start filming your work without overthinking it, just being yourself and capturing what you do in the purest form. It's cool, man, keep it up and enjoy yourself.
Nicee Video Gentleman 😅👍..But you should upload video with good thumbnail for good reach..for making good nd attractive thumbnails please contact me or give ur contact???
I like Python and I know it is popular because the syntax is very easy. However I see a lot of competitive programmers use c++ probably because of speed. I have had interviews where I have had to use specific languages but generally I think you can use whichever language you prefer.
Good job on the dedication to learning. I used a different browser, muted and unmuted the site, chose different audio outputs. Then I read the description XD
For the first question did the same as yours , but in the for loop I only wrote len(haystack) and it worked ,coz i think in [a:b] , if b exceeds the original length of the string there is no problem like print("sarthak"[1:12]) Gives arthak , tried the next easy one for an hour and was only able to clear 194/296 cases , will wait for your answer next time, too tired to go through the solutions
Finally saw the solutions, I was way off track , gotta start the habit of seeing the solutions if I don't get the answer in 30 min , wasted a lot of time , 😂
Nice work! Interesting I didn't realize the string slicing would not throw an error even if it is out of bounds. Haha yeah the next one seems harder I will get back to it tomorrow. My general rule is if I am stumped after 20 minutes look at solutions and tips. The yes no column is if I was able to solve the problem or not.
copied the dictionary from your code, and this is the code values = {'I':1, 'V':5, 'X':10, 'L':50, 'C':100, 'D':500, 'M':1000} ans = 0 for char in s: ans = ans +values[char] length = len(s) for i in range(length - 1): sub_string = s[i:i+2] if sub_string == 'IV' or sub_string == 'IX': ans = ans -2 if sub_string == 'XL' or sub_string == 'XC' : ans = ans -20 if sub_string == 'CD' or sub_string == 'CM': ans = ans -200 return ans here i thought that for IV we earlier added 1+5=6, but we should have taken 4 similarly for IX 9, instead of 11, so i subtracted 2 from my original answer everytime IV or IX occur similarly 20 and 200 for other substrings and it gave me almost similar run time as yours
Nice work! I like your approach to the problem. I just consolidated the extra logic with the "special" characters into the dictionary but it's cool to see another way to solve it.
i am glad that i reached to your channel and your consistency in really good to make us inspire... thank you for making these videos ..... i will be more happy to understand the concept by your hearing your voice
love these daily videos, randomly found one of your videos on my recommended page and have been watching every day since and motivates me to leetcode every day too lol

Neetcode is a good resource/UA-cam page

I appreciate the advice, I'm too lazy for editing at the moment. Maybe in the future!
would be nice if you took out the chewing gum..
Wow awesome coding

You can do it!
Perfect video to play in the background while I am leetcoding. SUBSCRIBED

I didn't solve this one haha
@@samtaubman so u realised that i didn't even like to go through your complete video...hahaha
Yeah if you're looking for explanations, @NeetCode is a great resource.
I couldn't solve this problem 😭
Me neither haha, it's good tho means I am still learning!
completely unrelated but my birthday was on the 15th of july
Happy birthday then!

Why did you do chemistry for undergrad?
Good question haha. I thought it was interesting mostly. I think it's a good major if you want to get into medicine or get a PhD in something related.

Top videos man! Encourages me to do more problems. Do you know the best way to start learning DSA?
Thanks! Look at NeetCode's youtube channel and website, it is elite.

what language do you think is preferred nowadays for leetcode? c++ or python

Wanted to ask what's that column in your google sheet , where you fill yes or no , as in if you saw the solutions or not ?
