Welcome to my channel. This isn't a channel targeted at making money, or becoming famous, or anything like that. This is a place for me to document aspects of my life that I want to document in video form. The primary audience is my friends and family, but all are welcome! Content is all over the map, there is car content focused on track and autoX. there is content of my daughter mountain biking, there will likely be flying videos from work, etc...

I take the new-to-me CSP class S2000 CR to an autocross for the first time in the car. The car is amazing and getting to co-drive with the previous owner was incredible. I also touch on some updates on the car itself.

First Event of the season! ABQ Super Lap season opener at Suika Circuit (formerly known as Sandia Speedway) and I set a new Personal Best of 1:30.848! Also my first use of the AiM Solo 2 I bought during the offseason! Can’t wait to get my OSGiken LSD installed and try for a 1:29.XX!

2023 ABQ Super Lap Final Event of the Season

This brings my third season helping with and competing in the ABQ Super Lap Series. It has been incredible to watch this grassroots effort grow into what it is today over its three short seasons! Event 7 of our 2023 season. The track was freshly re-sealed in spots (dark sections). 250hp and 2500 lbs is pretty quick. OS Gilken is top notch. Why can’t it be registered? Could be fun on Sunday drives.
It absolutely can and will be registered, it just isn’t yet, since I am in the military and a Florida resident, if I register it in Texas, I need to re-register it in the next state I go to in 2 years. If I register it in Florida by mail I don’t have to change it until I leave the military. Plus it would be miserable to drive most days here this time of year since it has no AC, so I’m not in a hurry. just gotta get everything together and mailed to Florida.
Change the wrap and put a cage in it. Adding a cage will inherently add weight, right?? So you should be good!
One thing that is definitely not in consideration is a full cage. It would be overkill for anything I do with it, make it dangerous to drive on the street, hard to get in and out of, and add enough weight that it would no longer be competitive in its autocross class. A rollbar is a much better choice for my application if I add anything in that department. Also, it is more complicated rules wise than just making sure you add weight. My point in the video is that installing a roll bar in a way that meets class rules will necessitate making the car heavier.

Still the fastest s2000 at Sandia Speedway / Suika Circuit! Hope to see you back, nice breakdown, I agree with everything and think you handled it as well as could be handled. That's the worst corner to lose it like this on. I've made the mistake of pushing for a PB and wrecking my car there as well, though fortunately for me there was a tire wall not a concrete barrier. Hope to see you back!

Wow! Sucks man. Nice composure during and after. Only been on this track a couple times but that corner has always worried me because of the wall. Your video just cost me another second or two :)
Glad you're OK. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. SWMS has had only 2 car crashes at Suika in our student group. One exiting T13 with a WRX STI. A second in T3 with another S2000. T14 is certainly one of the most intimidating! Thanks for your service!

Amazing lap, dude! I just got the new tires/brakes on the Model 3 and got a 1:33.4. Hoping to practice more and get down to a low 1:30, though that may take a while because that car is spooky in a couple of the corners haha.
When I came to the final event of the season the red S2000 stood out to me, watching your 1:31 and this flying 1:30 gets me hyped to drive man. Badass driving, Im excited to see this car next event!

Awesome video! How much have track experience have you previously had?
So I bought the car in 2009 and have done a metric ton of autocross over the years (even did national tour events back in 2013-2016). I had done a few track days here and there during that time but hadn’t switch to track focus until 3 years ago. For the last 3 years I have been competing in a local Time Attack series in Albuquerque NM (ABQ Super Lap) doing 8 or so events a year.

Considering the few mods you have done I would have to say that's some damn good driving.
They are a good all season tire for a sporty Daily driver... but if the car is not going to see snow or if you are using it fore something like Autox there are far better options. But they are a great value to put some decent rubber on an all-weather Daily driver
