Waste of public funds.

I like the "protected" intersections in many ways, especially for novice or timid riders, but I wish they were not called by that name. "Protected" intersections, with all their added safety features and green paint, still require cyclists to pay attention to cars crossing their path. A cyclist should always remain vigilant and not assume that these new facilities alone will protect them from collisions.

That doesn’t seem like the one I was looking for.

The intersection was closed for over a year. All that to make a single roundabout and quite possible one of the most hideous statues of all time? Why are people celebrating this? They should be ashamed.

Good to see this intersection go in. But the new crosswalk down the street from the new SLO Ranch homes crossing Madonna is a death trap. Cars don't take it seriously and run the red light all the time.

"Sustainable growth". Meanwhile the typical home in SLO costs $986k and is only continuing to climb. Home ownership in SLO is nearly half the national average and even then, how many homes do we see daily that are second or third vacation homes? SLO needs massive investment in new homes and removal of NIMBY conservation groups funded by wealthy land owners who have a perverse incentive in preventing growth.

We hear what you say but see what you do. Sounds good for special interest groups that have used public funds for their pet projects. Two giant problems with this video is how sprawl and infill building are increasing needs for water rationing. The other issue is you ignore the potential jewel of slo in Laguna Lake. No improvements to make it a destination. I see through your smoke screen

Shouldn't require bravery to go for a simple bike ride. Street and path designs like this make it easier for anyone to use a bike. At a no sweat effort, you can go 3 miles in 15-20 minutes easily.
