Hey all in this 1988 set I found a curt stillwell card with the blurry front picture but it also has a blank back? Does any one know anything about this card

@@mjrsportscards it’s just funny that the one with the blank back doesn’t have any record that I can find, and I don’t have the knowledge on cards if that means it collectible or not . Thanks for the reply
@@dw6275 if I were you I would for sure look it up but if you don’t happen to find anything it’s probably because it was an error card and I believe that cards with blank backs by mistake are not cards that psa would grade but I could be wrong.
Those rookie sapphires you got 9's on...PSA will only gem mint them 10's for Bobby and his collection only. Players who work for the grading & card companies have top priority over fans and other collectors. One benefit of athletes. Great video. I have over 900 all different cards of Jr and about 16,000 total and counting.

@@JohnNP3 the Griffey images are awesome! Though I might hold off on the Henderson and the Bo Jackson… just not sure they’re worth it to grade just yet. Having second thoughts on those two. What do you think?
@@mjrsportscardsI’d probably be more inclined on the Henderson just because that image is awesome and my intent would be to keep it long term in the PC. I like Bo Jackson, but that particular card doesn’t resonate with me as much.

@@mjrsportscardsprobably the Magic 8. But that’s mainly because I don’t have any interest in collecting basketball. As far as newer guys I’m collecting, always on the lookout for reasonable deals on Gunnar, Adley, Witt, and dabbling in Riley Greene. Also been thinking about Francisco Alvarez and Logan O’Hoppe.

Ok question why is the bonds and griffey jr card like 100,000 plus on eBay unslabed? Is it an error? Or just people not knowing about junk wax?
@@AmyNWike I could be wrong but I think it’s just someone asking for a ridiculous amount. Unless there is some variation that I’m aware of, I highly doubt it’s worth more than $10 raw. And even that I would say is high. Hope that helps. :)

I recently did the same, but with a factory set of 1990 Upper Deck. Bought it for $25, got a bunch of HOFers, a second year Griffey, a few rookies. Best of all, it it brought back some good memories. I agree with you about Albert Belle, Jeff Kent, etc. Thanks for the video!

I’m glad resubmitting worked out for you, but the fact that PSA changed the grades on 4 of them seems like an acknowledgment that they got it wrong the first time on 4 of your cards. That’s discouraging and doesn’t inspire confidence in the grading process. Going from a 9 to a 10 has a dramatic impact on the card’s value. PSA not getting it right the first time can have big consequences for the submitter. Unfortunately, there aren’t many great alternatives.
I gotta say… you make a good point! Maybe something can be worked on to correct this in the future but keep in mind that I submit hundreds of cards, so 4 changes is less than 1%.
Thanks MJR-super fun to watch the rip and see the Griffey cards, Bonds cards, and rookies from that era. Speaking of rookies from the 90s, it’s hard to nail down the actual rookie card year for some of those guys. Just as an example, you pulled a Vlad Sr card that was labeled as a rookie card, yet Vlad Sr has a 1995 Bowman card also referred to as a rookie card. I’ve see Jeter cards from about 4 different years referred to as rookie cards. In any event, I’m a big fan of 90s baseball cards, especially some of the unique parallels and inserts from the mid to late 90s. This was a great idea and hope you do it again in the future. You’ve inspired me to hunt down some unopened 90s product and go treasure hunting!

Great cards and grades! I’ve got some stuff from that time period that I’ve set aside to send in to PSA at some point. There are at least a couple Nolan Ryan cards where I think I have a shot at a 10. Thanks for the grading reveal!

Sometimes, we as collectors have to let the graders decide which cards to give a specific grade. I've gotten 10s from psa, sgc and cgc when I though I didn't have a chance.

I just submitted my first crossover submission so we shall see. It’s in a BGS slab graded 9 for card with a 10 signature and I prefer psa slabs just my preference so in my submission I ask for the same grade given not looking for higher so hoping they will crossover. Time will tell.

@@mjrsportscards update to crossover submission they received the card on the 18th and was in grading for a few days and is now in the assembly process. Fingers are crossed very hard on this one.

@@mjrsportscards well the app has updated to completed and says grades are ready but from what I can tell I don’t think they completed the crossover as it says for grade: minimum grade so Im guessing that means it didn’t meet the standard I’ll update once it’s in.

Great results. I was bidding on a Mullet recently and bailed after the bidding got a little crazy. I’m always looking to add to my BWJr collection. Saw the 1/1 platinum Bowman 1st on PWCC on the last weekly. Curious what it ended up selling for…will have to go look. Witt and JRod are both in high demand at the moment from what I’m seeing. BTW, do you know which brand of sleeves those are with the corners already notched? I had asked you about that on your last video. If you happen to know, let me know. Thanks!
I think the penny sleeves are the BCW notched sleeves. If you can’t find them, let me know and I’ll get you a link!

Fun rip, MJR! I keep everything when I open packs, base cards included. Put some in sleeves, others in toploaders, and identify anything I might want to grade later. Pretty much what you did. Speaking of sleeves, what kind do you use? Do they come with the corners cut at the top or did you modify them? I hate trying to get cards into standard sleeves. Always worry about nicking a corner. The Witt blue is a sweet card. Too bad the centering isn’t better. Nice foil cards as well.
Thanks! 🙏 I use any penny sleeve I can find but usually will “flick” a corner open so that the card goes in easily. There are also brands that you can buy with “notched” corners. This was a huge help. Let me know if you have any trouble finding them and I’ll see what I can find for you.
Yesterday I pulled my shoebox of cards out of the attic: 90 Donruss Diamond Kings Ken Griffey Jr and the other Ken Griffey Jr 86 Donruss Don Mattingly 68 Johnny Bench rookie card And 1975 Johnny Bench
All beautiful cards!! Crazy to think the pop count on the Diamond Kings Griffey was only 75 for PSA 10’s last I checked a year or so ago… which is mind blowing because they made like 5 million it seems!
