I always wonder how this magnificent, disturbing novel could have been written by the spinster daughter of a cleric in a bleak little village in Yorkshire. I think that the novel was an absolute masterpiece. Jane Eyre is stunningly good... and then there is Wuthering Heights which defies and surpasses every thing that has gone before it. I've been devoted and somewhat obsessed by the book since I was 15.... FIVE DECADES ago! Every time I go back to it I discover some new depth, some new perspective.

I never read the book. I heard a snippet of the song only today and was mesmerized by the sheer eerie-ness of the composition. Curious, the song felt familiar to me. On reading the lyric, "let me grab your soul away" gave me such chills; it made me wonder if Cathy was murdered... Will add, 'read Wuthering Heights' to my bingo chart!😊

Somos obrigados a ler na escola este clássico da literatura inglesa quando crianças. Mas na minha opinião nunca (never) uma criança deveria ler tamanha tragédia, drama, sofrimento... Não que as crianças devam ser tratadas como se o mundo fosse cor de rosa (pink), mas um drama romantico psicológico desta envergadura DESTRÓI o emocional de uma criança. E os educadores ?
