Converted washed out ditch to a beautiful pondless waterfall!
Переглядів 8 тис.10 років тому
The initial project was a dry creek bed, a few ferns, some sod and mulch.. Well it turned out to be a dry creek bed upgraded to a pond less waterfall, using pacific NW river stones (grey) and converting an old ditch into a north Georgia mountain stream. Right in your backyard! So with a flick of a switch the water begins its journey down stream to a pond less water supply tank and then pumps it...
Watching from Brazil in 2022 🇧🇷
This is a Pond less waterfall, meaning that the initial water is located in a big storage vault underground which has a water pump at the bottom of the vault. A check valve fitting right at the pump keeps the water in the 2" underground pipe which carries the water to the water falls continually, as long as the pump is turned on. We also hooked up a water tap to the irrigation system inside and at the top of the vault with a float valve which replaces water that evaporates. However, 5 years after installation we had to come back and clean out the silt that accumulated around the vault and slowed down the water flow. We took all the surrounding stones out of the big vault hole that surrounds the pump, cleaned the stones (57 stone) and put it all back together. We did not have to replace the pump after 5 years of use.
Great engineering, do you have any college degree in Gardening & Landscaping designing and drawing?
No, I was in business in college but was involved in restoration of stuff in high school, IE a boat, mini bike, go cart etc. But after I got married I always wanted to work outside building things so I became a remodeler and then a landscaper which I have been since 1996. I build patios, retaining walls etc as I tell every one "Anything outside legal and moral I'll do it! " thanks for the question ..what do you do? Phil @@outdoorsbeyondnature1980
Where you get the water, from River or Lake?
