Awful reading, made worse by the American accent. Sherlock is British character, living in England. This American accents totally ruins this well known popular story. TERRIBLE !

The one-year of both 'b'day words in the first take borders on the nauseating! They were only used most derogatarily in the southern U.S. It was utilised mereky,it seems, to empathise a myth that those from African descent had thicker skills than any other race, with all of its stereotypical implications. SOME monitoring should be in place to prevent such.appalling and outrageous literary devices still being manifest. A feeble European could have been used as the attacker, or a woman, no other feeble racist devices would have been necessary. It is in the public domain but is unpalatable and could be humanized so the empathis would be on the story rather than archaic American hate-terms. Please be more selective.

Is there a trademark issue with the term “audiobook”?

Just an fyi.. you are missing a good chunk of story around 33 minutes.. it resumes before 34 but there’s an important series of things in that missing piece.. They get to the place of the pawnshop but it skips right to ‘now it’s time to.. and they head for violin music..

The speaker, in general, does well. The studio acoustics are good. So, which genius decided to use someone with almost the worst sibilant 's whistle' I've ever heard. It drives man and dog up the wall. Surely this can be filtered out quite simply.

I think that the narrator need not whisper, I assume this story is not a confidential matter. Perhaps a heavy meal before starting will result in a more sufficient or vigorous projection.

I thought it were about the writers who were able to find a detective as clever as Holmes. Mr Poe ! Agatha Christie etc. if I remember it correctly ! mr Poe was the inventor of the Sherlock approach. But Agatha took it to a new level especially with: The murder of Roger Acroyd . I’ll dig into this and see what happens
