Actually, quite good. I actually watched all of them and no knocking the US except a Soviet Ace pilot shot down 2 P-38s which sounds like a stretch being it's 100+MPH faster and more maneuverable with much better pilots. My Army rotary flight school was about a year long about 55 years ago. I got a kick out of hearing British WW2 pilots lied and doubled their actual kills. The only kills have to be seen by a 2nd pilot or it's just boasting. I wanted to hear more about the Battle of Kursk the largest tank battle of World War 2. For that matter in history. No doubt without the USSR and the US the war could've been lost. The film does credit the Lend Lease program for tanks and aircraft. Of course, the US was fighting a war with Japan too. On just 1 island (of dozens) that the US died in The Battle of Okinawa was the bloodiest US Pacific battle of World War 2 on April 1, 1945 Easter Sunday until June. American battle casualties were 84,000! There were 375 tanks destroyed, 13 destroyers sunk, 15 amphibious ships sunk, 486 ships permanently damaged, and 800 aircraft lost. Without dropping 2 nukes, the US loses invading Japan would've approached what the Germans lost in the Battle of Kursk. Really incredible fortitude and bravery by the USSR. Kudos

Such an interesting and under-studied phase of the war in the East - a period of stalemate, small territorial gains and losses with appalling casualties, the permission for German withdrawal at the end of this phase was perhaps a small indication that the tide was starting to turn.

The overarching narrative of Russia is like any other European empire; birthing people and living everyday lives is underwhelming. The representation of the suffering of the Russian people under the monarchy and capitalism, with the majority of its indentured illiterate poor peasants and workers enslaved to the aristocracy, monarchy, and early industrial capitalists as wheels of history, misrepresents reality. The next thing I would have expected is the support of monarchy and indentured servitude at the least and a 12-hour work day without a weekend work schedule for the working. Presenting any attempt to modify the system as criminal and terrorism, which every revolution is based on such action, indicates who funded the "documentary." Misrepresenting reality suggests the intent to discredit Lenin and the Russian Socialist Revolution. The "documentary" title should have been named "Support the Existing Rule by the Elites as all Costs."

Russia was left without allies huh? Britian was giving huge sums of money to Russia and Prussia was still struggling on at Eylau in spite of their main forces being crushed. Sweden was trying to hold on in Northern Germany. Russia was whipped like a little schoolboy and Alexander was expecting to lose considerable territory at the treaty of Tilsit. Part of the signed treaty was for Russia to be the aggressor towards their former compadre, Sweden. Russian propaganda to justify military expansion as always.
