On this episode, Tina dives into the case of Dani Marie Schofield, a former ICU nurse in Medford, Oregon. She is accused of replacing life-saving fentanyl with tap water, leading to sever patient harm and infections.
For our "Good Nurse," we are featuring Leigh Ann Sondrup, a nurse who heroically saved a man's life after a major accident. Despite her exhaustion from working consecutive night shifts, Leigh Ann's quick thinking using a seatbelt as a tourniquet made all the difference.

Tangent story - NO. Everything WASN'T "ok". You are lying to yourself and everyone else. Just on a monetary level, how much did that nurse cost the. patient. And you cannot know the toll on his body and cannot say he will not have health problems down the road. Stop the gaslighting.

I think you missed the point about the differences in income, yes, she made more, and you did say with her being older she was established. Jim, being younger was an electricians apprentice, which is entry-level, and that means he made nothing, and you do not go from apprentice to Electrician there is another steps between and that doesn’t include what type of Electrician he was going to become, it would have taken him years to become a full-fledged master electrician. So to say he was not pulling his weight or contributed enough is a disservice, eventually, he would’ve been making more money than her. I get the feeling that the reason they were in financial strife was because of her addiction And the massive amount of money she had to waste for that addiction.

Why everybody start narrating the symptoms without going into the root cause of the problem. Muslims anywhere are not able to adjust and adapt to coexist with other communities. Even in India they are indulging into forging documents, encroachment of public land and violence against locals.

I went to high School with Cheryl Ervin (aka Cheryl Drace) at San Leandro High school in 1973. She married Terry Drace back in the 70's that went to a different high school than she. I don't know why they separated. We were very good friends, and haven't seen her since graduation. When our 50 year re-union came about, that was when I found out she was incarcerated for murder and I was shocked. I wrote Cheryl and she wrote back and being friends, it was great to hear from her. Just wrote her and I would like to visit her sometime soon. She was a very good friend that made a terrible mistake.

Very fascinating case with no absolute conclusion even sixty-nine years later. This was the very first major murder case of the television era, and was virtually a trial by newspaper. Dr. Sam Sheppard, as was the case with Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald in 1979, did not receive a fair trial but was probably guilty of murdering his pregnant wife. What I find jaw-dropping are the similarities between the two cases: both were young, charismatic, and enormously successful; both were surgeons; both were married to childhood sweethearts Marilyn Reese and Collette Stevenson; both wives dropped out of Skidmore College to get married; both wives were older than their husbands; both victims were pregnant with sons; both cases received a massive amount of publicity; both defendents blamed the crimes on intruders and always professed their innocence; both were suspects right from the beginning; both were unfaithful husbands; both suspects had an article of bloody clothing disappear from the crime scene; in both cases, no dogs barked; both crimes occurred early in the morning in the master bedroom; both Sheppard and MacDonald refused to take polygraphs; both crimes were appealed before the Supreme court; both cases spawned hit television shows; and both cases destroyed the lives of other family members. In the Sheppard and Reese families, three people committed suicide. MacDonald, also, has survived the majority of the people connected with his case. It is also interesting to note that Sheppard married for the third time at age 46 to the teenage daughter of his wrestling manager, while MacDonald is now married to a woman young enough to be his daughter. Kathryn MacDonald was born in 1961, two years before Collette Stevenson married Jeff MacDonald. Sam Sheppard died in 1969, the year before the MacDonald massacre at Fort Bragg. MacDonald is still in prison and turns eighty next month. Incredible.

This is the ugly truth of abor****. Many women have post abortive complications including sepsis and hemmorage and the cause of death is never attributed to the abort***. Gosnell was egregiously horrible and probably severely mentally Ill based on his clinic and home conditions and his ability to have zero concern for his female patients.

There was one doctor who alerted senior staff before they noticed the statistics. I think also it was jan 2016 when they noted the increase. Most of the deaths as far as I’m aware was air into the feeding tube, a couple were air into the IV line and a couple were insulin. She’s not guilty yet, there were huge staffing issues which delayed care to some of the babies , child c had a new nurse on her first shift in an intensive care baby, with someone over seeing her. None of her personality or history lines up either. She was always quick to call medical staff to assist also.

It wasn’t colleagues who called Lucy Letby a constant malevolent presence in the Neonatal Unit - It was the prosecutor. She didn’t have a huge pile of patient records either. It was a handover sheet probably in her uniform pocket when she last worked on the wards. You’d do well to know a series of investigations was initiated to ascertain the reasons for the sharp rise in mortalities, with an independent review being carried out by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Royal College of Nursing. Despite this report finding some staffing levels "inadequate" the Hospital was unable to identify the fundamental cause(s) of the high mortality rate, with the independent report similarly finding "no single cause or factor identified to explain the increase seen in the mortality numbers". This was long before the hospital went to the police in 2017. Have you heard of Lucia de Berk? A lady imprisoned in similar circumstances but was entirely innocent and released on appeal.

Even though terminally ill patients can be prescribed fatal doses of medications in Oregon, it isn't legal to do it the way Dr. Husel did. One very key part of the law is that patients have to voluntarily self-administer the medication. Prescribers and nurses cannot administer these medications. Prescribers are also required to send a report to the state health authority, with detailed information, for every prescription written under Death with Dignity law. I don't think any state would have let him keep his medical license.
