DIY Ribbon Crasher - Sample

I tried to make a my own version of the Rhythm Tech Ribbon Crasher. I made it cutting a galvanized sheet into smaller pieces, then I fixed them with 2 bolts on a wood plank mounted on a standard cymbal stand. It's loud, intense, bright and tight metallic. Maybe on the next one I'm going to use an aluminium sheet, the sound will be "milder", If you have any question do not hesitate to ask!!!

Hey man. I'm late to the party. This is so awesome. Have you build the aluminium one yet? I'm going to build one myself aswell. I'm intending to use it with a cajon and XL nylon brushes (it sounds different than a stick). Do you have any tips or things I should know? Thanks man!
I didn't try so far. But actually I have some aluminium i could use for a test. Let me. Know if you build one in the meanwhile, I am very curious!

Well, the thickness of the galvanized sheet was something around 1mm (something less). The top and bottom pieces are 30x3.5cm (A), the central ones 26x3.5cm (B). The holes distance is of 16 cm for both A and B pieces, but: - in A pieces, the holes are in the median line - in B pieces the holes are in diagonal ("misaligned"), thus to stay as you see in the pic. Then, to fix is use just 2 bolts fixed on a random wood plank and make an hole big enough to mount it the DIY ribbon crasher on a cymbal holder. I hope it helps, if you have any other question feel free to ask!

Grazie! Per registrare ho usato un mixerino Yamaha Mg102C sparato direttamente nel pc, 2panoramici,1mic rullo, la cassa invece era triggerata. Tutti i microfoni sono takstar, per cui molto molto base ma funzionano :D

Il bello è che avevo microfonato al volo, perchè l'audio della videocamera saturava un pò. Solo che sono na capra in queste cose (il mixerino lo ho da pochi giorni) e il risultato è stato questo. Spero di fare meglio nei prossimi 2 video. Per fortuna che, come hai detto, il contest è poor! :D
il contest è poor...quindi i suoni sono buoni così....con una batteria ripresa con microfoni mixer e tanto altro la tua esecuzione sarebbe sembrata diversa credimi....;)
