Miles Edgeworth Shattered Glass: Turnabout Reversal

КОМЕНТАРІ

  • @AceAttorneyFangameArchive-z4f

This case is actually really important to me, similar to contempt of court. Whereas that game was what introduced me to fancases in general especially through pywright, this one was what introduced me to Ace attorney online fancases, as well as the first case I uploaded to this channel, Turnabout reversal (I played them back-to-back). I still remember the day I gave those cases a try (about two years ago, I think?), and I was blown away that not only I could play AA fangames in the comfort of my own browser, but that they could also be this good! Looking back on these Miles Edgeworth cases in specific though; yeah, they're not perfect, and have some rough edges here and there, but I still rather enjoy them for how good both of them are, and ESPECIALLY how weird this one is. Seriously, this has gotta be one of the weirdest cases I've ever played, and I love it for that nearly to death. I was right happy to get both cases uploaded.

After TCoC, what's next? Conflict of Interest?

If I feel like it, probably. Might be a big gap cause this whole series is gonna be a huge undertaking, and seeing as COI is arguably longer, I would probably take some time in between to breathe

@@AceAttorneyFangameArchive-z4f in that case you should use my custom sound patch. It increases the quality of the sountrack the game uses by a mile. You can find it in the court records forum page > Games > Sound patches for Ace Attorney games. Sadly I can't send you the link otherwise UA-cam will mark the comment as spam (I tried).

@@AceAttorneyFangameArchive-z4f In my opinion, it's better to upload less popular fancases first rather than well-known ones like COI. There are several channels that have a full game walkthrough for it (the same goes for Contempt of Court, which has at least 3 different walkthroughs, one of them being recent), unlike other fancases that don't have any (many of them appeared for the first time on your channel). But of course, it's your channel, and you should decide which fangame to record. I've just given you my thoughts on this

@@eyedrops2340 No no, you’ve got a valid point. I’m mostly doing these cases out of obligation. If my goal is to archive as many as I can, then why not go for the big fangames? But, again, I understand your concern, and I say don’t worry because I’m already back at it with recording some AAO cases.

Its nice to see someone upload a no commentary walkthrough of this game!! I know there was one a while ago but it was dualscreen and had low quality. I also hope this gives people exposure to The Contempt of Court, its a great fangame and deserves more attention!

Thanks, but to give credit to Darth, his playthrough was what gave me a proper viewing of contempt of court. Were it not for him, I wouldn't have gone through with this channel.

Using my time travelling powers, I am going to yap in the comments about this case.... mwahaha! note that i wont marathon all cases of this game back to back cause i need time to breath and such ~Spoilers and also paragraphs~ Ahhhh, this game. This game was the reason I got into Ace Attorney fangames. Without it, this channel likely would not have existed, although not the reason I started it. When I decided I'd play this series of cases for the channel, I honestly felt a little unsure, yet curious going in. For a while, this game was what I considered my favorite series of AA cases ever, thinking everything about it was damn near perfect! As mentioned earlier, though, it's what got me into Ace attorney fangames, and get into them, I did. I skimmed conflict of interest, played a bit of Trials after justice, and discovered AAOnline's voluminous number of cases. Long story short Turnabout retribution is my newest obsession and someday i intend on archiving it on this channel just so i can justify replaying it for the 999th time. There was a lot of good fancases though, and the more I dug into this rabbit hole, the more gold I found! However.... All this gold did lead me to think about COC again, as it had been a long time since I had played through it. After seeing all these wonderful creations, what would I think of the fangame that got me into them in the first place? Which leads us to today. So, scapegoat itself; It's, uh, pretty good. I used to think this case was absolutely riveting with how much it threw at you; Grossberg's dead, there's a new scary prosecutor, you get to play as the defendant in a flashback, i have a sinus infection, and generally the case felt like a thrill ride all the way through. But... to be frank, playing it again kinda left me overwhelmed in some spots, and underwhelmed in others. The flashback trial at the beginning is neat, but it really does just get suddenly sprung on you, and in the second one.... Eeergh, look I've come to be okay with exposition dumps as long as they're delivered well enough but hooooooooh my god... That 2nd flashback trial is rough.... it's only 20 minutes but it just keeps throwing information and information at you to the point where it's kind of headache inducing? Though, that's probably from the aforementioned sinus infection. But for real, the beginning of this case I can't really say left me with the biggest amount of optimism.... But, thankfully the second half definitely more than picked up the slack. I think Mr. C definitely did a good job making brisbane a formidable and clearly wrong opponent, while still making him a likable character and fun opponent, Snow is snarky and smarmy, but also somehow very charming and likable, and vex... Well, I always thought Vex was peak and I don't think I can say this playthrough, even with the jank in mind made me like him even 1% less. Dude's just an uncontrollably insane and haughty killer, and apparently C even said that he just intended for him to be some random evil prosecutor who kills people, which i especially find impressive because he's just written so charmingly for a character C supposedly didn't have the most faith in. That 2nd investigation I also especially liked, as a dilemma is pointed to you plain and simple; Krump IS dead, but is also supposedly just walking around fit as a fiddle, and even if I knew the twist, it was still a super fun web to untangle. I do think the part where you actually battle him in court was a bit too easy? Buuuut, who am I to complain? Oh yeah krump also exists ig idk he was funny but didnt do much for me otherwise. Characterization of Phoenix and Maya was pretty good too, though I'd be lying if I said they were the most interesting characters of the case. That's not a bad thing, as it is good that C focused on their own characters, buuuut still. I really think the moment where Phoenix said that Vulper didn't deserve a fair trial was.. wildly out of character, though? I mean yeah he DID deserve to rot in prison for committing the murder but surely phoenix had to realize that by saying that criminals don't deserve fair trials he's basically setting a precedent where just because someone is viewed as a criminal by the law they don't deserve any kind of fair treatment leading more and more people to get falsely accused and being treated unfairly even if they didnt do it because theyre viewed as a criminal by the law which is especially strange given wright's distaste for false accusations and what was i talking about again Overall, fine enough case for what it is. Couple rough spots here and there but on the whole, not a bad start to COC. I remember it only getting better from here, so... hopefully it does! See you then, I suppose. case is B+ tier btw

One of the highlights of the Into The Takumi-Verse competition. It's a shame the press dialogue was not included in this video, as it is pretty funny. Shoutout to prosecutor Mia Fey and Edgeworth adopting Ema as concepts.

This is one of my all time favorite ace attorney fan cases now, probably right behind Lighthouse of Lunacy. Though that one has the advantage of being longer. I was on the edge of my seat all the way till the end through this game. The villain was also really good in this and I despised her with every fiber of my being. There were a couple moments in here where I let out an audible cheer because of how invested I was in the story.
