In this presentation I try to explain the legionary antoniniani coinage of Gallienus around 260 a.d. for coin-amateurs and enthusiasts (and not for historical experts!).
The interpretation follows mainly the work from numismate Robert Göbl, but to keep it simple, I try to describe a obvious round view and try to keep room for your own numismatic curiosity!
Gallienus Legionary coins are mostly weak in quality. I selected those with mainly clearly readable revers. I didn't care about bust varieties, and revers legends are maybe also not uptodate with newest discoveries. I added the location of the headquarter of each legion - even I know that scientific this is a more complex topic.
