    What a great personality! Even if she is just speaking she is philosophical, intellectual and deeply emotional. She was pure art and an inspiration even if she was just talking... wisdom and beauty was a constant part of her.

    We just lost our 2nd oldest 100 year old cousin in Augusta GA, this interview helping me get through it . We will truly miss Ms Jessye performances/great lady, great singer.

    Already she was on a wheel chair and it is so sad to see. I heard she had a car accident.. The pain is over although in our hearts it is there as we are missing you. RIP.

      Yes. My father was a very tough man and uneducated for the most part. I will never forget us seeing her sing on television when I was a little boy and he sat and cried when he heard her sing. It was so extraordinary. She was a special gift.

      @SHOWLINE ...Yes, her death Monday was related to complications from a 2015 spinal injury, which left her wheelchair bound. She's now resting in God's hands.
