Drifting with Daigo Saito at Fat Five Land, Japan!
Last year we visited Fat Five Land in the hope of drifting with D1GP, FD USA and FDJapan legend Daigo Saito on his home track. Initially we asked for rides and then I asked Daigo if he would let me drift with him. He agreed and once that sank in, anxiety took over lol. You'll get to see the full experience and range of emotions I went through during our visit. You too can visit Fat Five Land and have a ride around this track, if you're lucky you may be able to drift it with Daigo's mechanic too. You never know the man himself might be there when you visit like he was when we rocked up! Fat Five Land and Daigo's Shop - Fat Five Racing (located nearby) are both in Sayama City, Saitama, Tokyo. As well as having a memory that will last forever it was awesome to see Daigo enjoying himself at the same time. Jim, Jordan and I can't thank him, his mechanic and the gorgeous Momo enough for their time and fantastic welcome. We hope this inspires you to make the trip yourself. Be sure to give Drift Team Funabashi and Blackett Photography a mention when you stop by. Ian :-)

On a gear change around 330ft he lifted the front wheel which wouldn’t come down until half track when the bike went completely airborne! Forced to bail on his 600 BHP monster he came crashing back to earth at an incredible 134mph. The bike barre...

The bike was a wannabe sprint car.
Looks fun 👍🏼
You better start doing push-ups and hag on he just feel off 😢
That was pretty cool.
why would you start at slow motion???
@@HighAway you start the run at slow motion to see how the tyre reacts etc for analysis purposes. Plus you don’t have time to change settings, there’s no sound with this camera on slow motion anyway, so no benefit to speeding it up. 👍
@@blackettphotography having it at the normal speed at first would have been better... that'll leave two choices in one clip easily.
7.79, 195 mph
185mph but it’s still a 6 second, 200mph+ bike. 😎🔥🏁
A bunnyhop into a 7sec run is outrageous 🔥🤘
The title didn’t say bike crashes at 200mph. It just says 200mph motorcycle
Sure Bois will be back on a Bike much sooner than 6 months... Fukin legend 😉
Looks like he fell off at 80 not 200 ?
It’s a 200mph bike and he fell off at 135mph 😎👍
Since it's 2024, I don't know if dude is serious with the pink wtf ever, or it's just a joke. Oh, it might be for save the titties. IDK.
I saw this accident, we were there for monster trucks but I was watching the other racing. It looked awful. I'm so pleased he's going to recover. Thank you for sharing so that we could get an update on his progress.
It was the pink tutu that saved him. 🤔 Not seen it at the Shep on a Saturday though 🤭😎
Bike will do 200mph, didnt crash at 200mph.
Always one, it might not have crashed at 200mph. Regardless of the fact the guy was injured and is lucky to be alive, you are correct well done it probably wasn't 200mph.
Don't the results say he's doing 195mph at 1000 feet? It says 166mph at 1/8 miles so not a slow crash eh smart guy .
That's the guy in the other lane
@@Tod_Unctious Actually, there isn't much luck involved because the death rate of motorcycle drag racers (vs number of crashes) is Very Low. Many years ago we had two deaths (the same year) here in FL and both of them were killed because they hit guard rails, the rail almost decapitated one guy and the other one went under the rail and hit the posts which killed him. The worst crash I've ever seen caused brain damage to that rider and it was because he hit the wall VERY HARD. Anyway, just saying that the death rate is almost zero when no obstructions are involved...
There is no way that bike was doing 200 mph.
Bike more than capable. Not that run 😢 hope you recover
Crikey that was rough. Speedy recovery
Fairly safe crash in fairness, nothing to suddenly bring you to a sudden stop, glad rider is well.
Hope you get well soon ...bit too fast
200mph crash and still smiling haha
And still got a respectable time
I was thinking the riders body passed the timing at a fair ole speed lol That's a great story to tell the ladies
I’ve been hoping to find out how is he doing I’m glad he’s home and managing and is okay it was a nasty one GET WELL SOON BOIS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Not 200mph
@@daveminskip5541 it is a 200 mph bike as stated. 😎👍
Thats not really how your title is worded chum. Its worded as a bike crash at 200mph, not there is a bike that can do 200 is having a crash. I am pretty sure the bike will go beyond 200, given i built road going turbo busa's from 2000 that easily ran 220. But either way excellent shots you got, great detail my friend, extremely well caught. Much respect to you sir. Top quality.@@blackettphotography
Uep , click bait bull shit 👎
On a red light.... Well done
Regardless of the red, he was shooting for a PB beginning with a 6! 😎🔥🏁
Crashed on a red light what a dick head. Trying for a pb I would rather have rolled and gone to hockenhiem.. Can't teach stupid. Good camera skills tho xx
Looking at the short numbers he's way off. Again why he crash on a red light.... Good job all the crew and staff the real hero's
Wishing Bois a speedy recovery . Very good photography . Was watching it live and was a bit pizzed off there was no update on the day thanks for sharing
Scary power on those turbos... Get well soon! (Great footage btw., please post more of that slomo-)
Looked bad in real time, even nastier in slo mo. All the best for your recovery fella.
Wishing for a speedy recovery , great footage . That came up so hard when he got back on it , scary !
And this is why the acu/santa pod/the uk have proper requirements for safety gear. God knows what could have been if this was stateside in jeans and trainers. Hope you have a speedy recovery Bois 💪🏼
If people choose to wear a thong and ride a bike, that's their choice my friend. It's not my concern at all what people choose to ride in. I'm happy to leave them to it. Life's hard enough without bothering what others are doing. Besides full leathers are really only useful above 60 mph approximately Just my 50+ years of riding and racing opinion of course.
@@evelghostrider its the marshalls concern to not have to peel someone off the track. It’s the other racers concern for the down time as well as the spectators. Thankfully we have common sense approach to safety here. Everyone’s more than happy wearing leathers and boots at the track. It’s all of motorsports concern when the insurance and costs to run events prices venues out of business. All we see on cycledrag and 1320 is drag strips closing down in the USA. Not sure what Mickey Mouse racing you’ve done but almost every discipline has gear standards… And we tend to go a little bit faster than 60mph when we’re racing - but you do you babes.
Well thank you for sharing your life experience with me, how did i not know a single thing you explained.... My friend your rather silly in your reply before asking me a single question, when you make an assumption you make an ass of yourself, as you have clearly done. Completely taking what ive said in some ridiculous tangent.. but let me explain to you about the micky mouse events i did... I am over 60 years old, have raced bikes from i was 8 years old. Started track racing aged 16, then quickly to road racing same age. Ive raced the manx, then the IOM TT, Ulster GP and many road circuits you have zero clue about. Ive had three deadly accidents while riding on road and survived, the higest speed ive went up the tarmac was 170 mph... apart from friction burns and sprains through leathers i walked away. Ive slid up the road in basic jeans and jacket on a sunday ride, minor body damage and walked away. As you dont slide for any great distance at such speeds, you slow down very quickly.. I owned a private garage that was one of the first people to fabricate turbos onto the hayabusa to be used in drag bikes before it was a big thing. For testing and tunning they were run on the public road of over 200 mph many times. I have what some would call quite a bit of experience in bikes and racing.. then again according to you, i lack any experience... You wear what you like when you like, your choice my friend as i care not what happens to you, ive no responsibility towards you. As for your view of safety issues... The over bearing part of safety is because of idiots not taking responsibility for their own choices and getting hurt or killed and then people making an insurance claim against whoever... That is why insurance is so high, its why people are wrapped in bubble wrap and cotton wool today.. People die every day from all kinds of stupid ways. Being entirely safe does not make a difference when its your time to go... Enjoy your riding dude, your not responsible for anyone but yourself. @@handwrittencycles
@@evelghostriderof course you have😂
Seems quite the childish reply but fair enough, your thoughts and beliefs are you own. I think if i wanted to make up crap i could do a whole lot better than my basic life dude.. Its nothing special at all. Anything ive done can be done by any average person. @mattjones1992
Just so glad he's can be up and about ready gor easter wishing him a very speedy recovery 🙏
❤❤❤❤
This is unfortunate but he waited too late to get out of it. He should've been able to feel the rear tire shake an get out of it. Or at the very latest when he felt the bike leaning to the right. I hope he made a full recovery 🙏🏼
You’ve got to remember that the bike moves at 3s and he starts to bail off it at 33s, so he had 30s to think about it yeah? No just 3s in real time!! 😬

As an ex motorcycle racer all I can say is you boys need to learn how to slide instead of tumble when you crash........
You don't always have a choice between a slide and a tumble. Top fuel racers aren't amateurs. At 180 to 200 mph you become a human bullet.
Minibikes don't count nor do trail bikes, mate. Unless you've raced the TT or Topbike, do not lecture on things you do not understand...
These are big, wide beasts reaching 250mph in just 5 seconds. The g-forces, the reaction times... completely different game compared to slow, little circuit racing bikes, no one is going to gracefully crash one of these things.
He is correct. You know when it's too late. It's time to pitch the bike. Steve waited too long to get out of it. As a progas, Harley racer #3 plate holder(B&MCycles). Those 4 cylinder topfuelers are wide. You almost have to roll off it. Thus setting you in that motion.. we only had 11" wide rear tire. You could hop off the bike and set yourself in a sliding motion. I never had to get off one.
Don't think he really had a choice!
It wants to fly all that bouncing lol 😆
well as a murderer you seem to be ok. but time takes its toll Jeff, and I am watching you, bro
He almost did the entire quarter mile as a crash 😂
