      I don’t believe there was any type of adjustment for it in that regard. I notice that they are less sharp when I’m not auto focused on my material but once I lower the depth to the right height it’s good. That may be some sort of ticket with ikier unfortunately.

    Other than some minor QC issues has your experience with it been good? I’m considering getting their *70 W* module version, but want to hear non-sponsor type takes on it. I just see it has all the features and *no V-Rollers* also to an extent that screen. That screen that useful in your experience? Either way I’m rambling a bit, and no pressure, but yeah I’d love to know what you think about it.

    • @757woodworks
      @757woodworks 5 місяців тому

      Hey Eric. Appreciate the watch. So far so good with some minor issues. The red alignment laser was askew which I made a video about how to fix it. I had a screw fall out of the Z axis a few weeks ago. Beyond that the only thing I’ve noticed that is annoying is my home position is often a mm or two out after powering off from the time before making my grid off. I’m thinking I might need to tension a belt for that though. Just haven’t gotten around to it. One thing to note if you use the red alignment laser the usable area will be 410x360 to use it properly. The screen is useless as I only use lightburn and the magnets on it suck. Lastly the fast setting can be a little rough with fine details, the medium setting is very nice but I was never able to get any feedback from ikier what settings to put in lightburn to get a proper preview time. When I do medium I typically add about 25% to the time. All in all would I buy it again? Probably. It cuts very nice, engravings have been good as well on wood and slate. Can do a slate 4inch tile in about 3 minutes. I did see a Neje Max 4 last night that has peaked my interest. Wider footprint, 80w output (do like the idea of the combo on the ikier though), and still a motorized Z axis which i like. Not sure if it has autofocus though which is awesome on the ikier.

    Thanks for the video. I have problem with my autofocus, when my laser head going down Z axis it hit right over to the material and I can see it’s over run, I think there is no limit switch at the Z-axis. Do you know how to fix this? Did I set the height of the laser head position wrong?

    I’m trying to engrave shells and “they” say use the same setting as tile. What are all the settings you used?

      For my 5w output laser I use 4000mm per minute speed and 75% power. I’ve never done shells before. That sounds interesting. It may be difficult to do those with the changes in height though. Wish you the best.

      @@757woodworks thanks. I heard that in your voiceover., wasn’t sure if there was more to it. I’ll give it a shot next week and let you know.

    No mention on how are you prepared the Slates

    • @757woodworks
      @757woodworks Рік тому

      Hey Oscar. There is no preparation on these. If you coat them with anything the condensation will bead off them instead absorbing. Some people wipe with mineral oil to clean beforehand or spray poly for a shine afterwards. Thanks for watching, hope the rest was helpful.

    Did you make that brass air assist yourself?

    • @757woodworks
      @757woodworks Рік тому

      Hey there. First and foremost thanks for watching. I did not make the brass air assist. I purchased it off of Etsy from HannahJakubCreations. It was a little over $50 US but it’s phenomenal and imo worth every penny. I was running a 3d printed one for awhile and there is a vast difference between the two.

    Thanks for making a nice & simple video explaining the process! Did you say that the slate coaster was pre-treated / coated with anything? If you did, I missed it.

      It was not. That is fresh right out of the package. I did see on a video from Samcraft that he uses Acetone to clean them but I didn’t find that necessary. Appreciate the view!
