If a traveler can only use a point and shoot cameras and their smartphones, what is the recommended settings in general? ISO value, etc.?

Thanks for the tips, Lisa. The tip you gave me to leave my super-tele (200-600) at home was spot on. As you said, the animals are normally near by so my 50-400 worked out perfectly and if I needed wider, my phone filled that need especially for video. Cheers!

Why the need for 2 pairs of waterproof gloves? Also, did he mean Outdoor Research (vs. Ocean Research) for the second brand?
Just in case something happens to one set, you have a back up. You don't want to be stuck without gloves!

I went on the Crossing the Circle in Jan/Feb 2023. It was amazing! The staff and ship were top notch. The food was 5 star hotel quality. The hotel the first two nights had the most beautiful view. This was number 1 on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. Took me 3 years to save up the money and worth every penny. There were so many companies to choose from and I'm very pleased that I went with Polar Latitudes. Very profession and easy to work with. I highly recommend them.
