The best version of the song. I always loved the rolling drums as Brendon didn't know drum programming back when he made this tune - it has double pedalling with another kick drum on top. When Gene Hoglan did the tune I was actually dissapointed by the removal of this aspect of the tune.

If the rest of the show was as good as Doomstar Requiem it'd be one of my all time favorites.

I love how hard that inital guitar note sounds.

Fan interpretation time:- * In the previous song "Abigails Lullaby"; Abigail suggests to Toki Wartooth to remember his fondest, greatest moment he ever had while in the single most appalling, horrific conditions imaginable through a genuinely sweet-hearted number * What is truly striking though (IMPO) is that with other folks who have their fondest memories in a lot of other fiction; they tend to be the centre of attention & make themselves out to be the greatest person in the presence of all... But oddly enough; Toki doesn't seem to do that, this fondest memory of his seems to be told in a pretty honest way. * It's not known to the fullest extent if the other bandmates truly informed Toki of the actual events but he seems to honestly imagine the scenes as follows:- 1. The Lowdown- this sets up the situation with the band after the firing of Magnus Hammersmith & Pickles knowing they need a Rhythm Guitarist to begin creating an album to rock the world. 2. However; Swisghaar arrogantly boasts how because he's such a talent that Dethklok should be a 4 man act which he can cover all aspects of Guitar! Pickles shows Swisghaar the immense number of auditioners who have answered the call to become Dethkloks Rhythm Guitarist (This tells us that though Dethklok isn't famous yet, they've certainly earned a revered & respected reputation in the underground of Metal) so Pickles offers Swisghaar a challenge- "Defeat ALL of the auditioners & he can have his wish" 3. & Swisghaar proceeds TO. DO. JUST. THAT!!! (1172 Auditioners) thus declaring himself 'A wizard & sorcerer' of the guitar! (Perhaps he should include Warlock as well? Swisghaar rolling a Natural 20 on the challenge) however Nathan Explosion notices the door knocking & demands the entrant to arrive & its Toki. * He's a little younger minus facial hair & he's meek, polite & rather nervous (however notice his shadow when he's introduced is in the shape of a hawk indicating a potentially proud, valiant spirit) the rest of the band are rather skeptical with Pickles exhibiting a little curiosity, Nathan very skeptical & William Murderface?.... Well he's being William Murderface! *Swisghaar decides to allow this newcomer to challenge him but indicate in a somewhat Tongue-in-cheek way it's going to be a pity to destroy Toki as he did with the others. The Duel! * Swisghaar begins & unsurprisingly Toki is deterred (no blaming him) however unlike the auditioners, he draws out his guitar & then proceeds to MATCH Swisghaar! Much to the "Surprise" of the other bandmates, Pickles showing the most surprise! * The battle itself begins with Swisghaar shape-shifting into a Centaur-horse human hybrids who are known to be exceptionally lecherous creatures & Toki shapeshifts into a male version of a Harpy- bird/women said to be a manifestation of Zeus' wrath! & both continue the duel in the clouds with lightning firing from their guitars. The scene hilariously switches to the pair dressed in Baroque attire akin to Mozart & Beethoven & with straight faces & expert use of their pinky fingers continue to duel (properly starting to enjoy themselves) The climax- Both Swisghaar & Toki back in their trademark attire ascend into the clouds with their respected animals spirits behind them (Swisghaar-Horse & Toki-Hawk) & Toki is in the zone..... However, the storm clouds gathering may indicate that Toki is starting to realise the monumental mountain he's having to climb being Swisghaar is becoming all too apparent! & Sadly; the immense tension causes Toki to fumble & he falls to his knees.... Defeated! However, Toki is still intact as the other auditioners got obliterated rather unceremoniously! The bandmates express their disappointment with Pickles showing the most sympathy (as much as he will allow) Nathan being rather blunt in his honesty with William just telling him "politely" to GTFO here! Conclusion:- With Toki leaving dejected & hopes dashed; Swisghaar of all folks waits outside & offers him a revelation (which is surprisingly humble for such a narcissist) * Swisghaar admits that until Toki came around:- NOBODY was able to keep up with him, proved a good challenge & actually got him to do something he hasn't done in a long time...... TRY! & as a way to say "Thank you" he allows Toki Wartooth to join Dethklok as their Rhythm Guitarist much to Toki's delight!

The rhythm guitar player is always under appreciated. They’re main job is to make the lead guitarist sound good, which requires to have as solid time as the drummer , and also never over-playing, which both take a lot of discipline and control.
