R53 Cooper S - Gravity (eBay) Exhaust Note - Pops & Bangs
This is a 2004 pre-facelift Mini Cooper s R53. It has a Gravity exhaust from eBay installed and I think it sounds great! Very easy to live with.
The pops and bangs are curtesy of having a facelift ECU installed.
Car is currently for sale if anyone is interested!

Peugeot 308 GTi 270 - Exhaust Sound (Resonator Delete)
Переглядів 2,9 тис.3 роки тому
Thought I would test out the suction mount for my action cam. Here is 6 mins of exhaust noise on my way back from Morrisons. Unfortunately the microphone on my Yi Action Camera isn't great but it does the job! May look at getting upgrading it at some point to a GoPro. Looking to record more footage of my car soon so stay tuned!

Recently got a resonator delete for my 308 GTi 270 so thought I would upload a couple of clips of what it sounds like.
Mini F56 Genuine Union Jack Tail-lights Retrofit for Halogen
Переглядів 33 тис.3 роки тому
Hi Everyone! This is a video that shows you how to retrofit the genuine Union Jack tail-lights on a Halogen equipped mini F56. This tutorial includes the following steps: Removing the halogen lights, Swapping pin 1 to 5 in the light connector (not required if you already have LEDs) Installing the Union Jack Light Coding out cold and warm, voltage monitoring with Bimmercode and a Vgate adapter C...
Already had Union Jack lights on my electric cooper s but very interesting video all the same keep up the good work.
Hello i ve bought a mini f56 with front and back halogen lamps. The only thing i ve to do is switch the pins then use bimmer code? Nothing more? Your mini at the time video is front and back halogen? Thank s
Hi, yes that’s correct. In fact now bimmercode is simpler to use than when I recorded the video. So I believe there are less settings you need to change.
Sounds Very good indeed. Is a remap required mate
Nope. Car was standard other than the res delete :)
Great video
My break light blinks with my indikator what can I do
So i just install the light and everything work great but the brake light not on when I apply the brake and i think i need coding. For the wire i don’t have 5 pin but i have 6 pin so i don’t know which one to switch
Could you post pictures of the 2 plugs that have the 6 pins?
Thank you very much for making this video. I've just successfully installed some on mine. Although I wasn't aware that you also have to pay an additional £50 to get full access to the Bimmercode app?! FYI- The app has also been updated now so it's much easier and simpler to update the coding without having to go through all the voltage shiz. Happy motoring peeps.
Thank you very much! I tried many times to code the new UJ lights and still got the error message. The wires swapping was what made it work. I don't get why all the other tuts on YT don't mention that. Anyway, super happy with my new rear lights. Mini Cooper 3drs 2017.
Do they have a version with a German flag, being that it is a German car? 😅😅
Damn. My connector has all 6 pins. Any idea?
Are you sure you have halogen bulbs to begin with? If you have LED lights you don’t need to do the pin swap
@@squashylemming5202 I imported my US Mini F56 12/2018 to Germany and my connectors have 6 pins even though I have Halogen lights. I have the OEM UJ tail lights (ECE Version) on the way and may try them without changing a pin. Makes sense?
I'm watching this video really hoping it fixes the issue with the GP3 concept lights i bought. brake lights dont come on.
Does the gravity cat back have EG or any other papers that allow it to be used on the road in the EU? 😅
Hi, I am trying to do the same. However the mechanic said because my car front lights are halogen lights so the coding can’t be done. Is your copper shown here front lights are halogen?
Hi, yes they are halogen. That’s why I made the video :)
Might just do res delete instead of downpipe honestly
Hi great video, I’ve got the same lights on order, what OBD reader do you use and also did you have to pay for the app ? Thank you
Thanks for this, great help in installing the same lights on my 2015 F56. Still managed to break the same clip as you as I completely forgot about your warning for this - may try and plastic weld back on but like you the gap looks the same compared to a working clip. Thanks again, video was a life saver especially when explaining how to unclip the lights from the inside.
Curious - did you do the wire swap? I have a 2015 F55 5 door and didn't have to do that. All my wire holes were filled. Wonder if the F55 differs from the F56 for the wiring assignments...
👍
Merci beaucoup
hello, what is the year of your mini and Cooper S or JCW
It was a 2017
How comes you got jcw and cooper a badge?
The car was a Cooper S Works 210. So was a cooper s which comes with the JCW tuning kit (pro exhaust, remap, jcw body kit) from factory. With the tuning kit they stick on the JCW and 210 works badges.
@@squashylemming5202 very nice I like it
hello, what is the use of changing the thread location? thank you seb
superb video thanks as I've got F56 Mini GP3 rear lights to fit to my daughters F56 JCW
GREAT video much appreciated. Everyone shows you the fitting and the coding, but not the wiring part.. which was the information I needed to know.
Thanks for this - super helpful! I would have been stuck without it. Cheers
previous owner of my 308 had the res taken off, I didn't even notice, 0 drone
Hi mate just wondering where did you buy it from and what is the Measurement ? Cheers
I have an issue with the reversing light not working on these. Any ideas? Tried following your instructions but nothings changed. They didn't work, I then didn't touch the lights and they worked for a day or 2 and now they don't work again 😕 help
How about highway driving, is it very loud?
No, was fine on the motorway. Not droney at all :)
From where can I purchase please?
I just had the resonator cut out and replaced with a pipe like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131925503720?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=hCHpdOI-SM-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=xrvbVkyQTEK&var=431266574155&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
can this be done on a 2014 SD cooper?
2014 should be an F56 mini so yes :)
2014 should be an F56 mini so yes :)
Great vid. How much is bimmercode?
Hi Thanks for posting this video. I have a f60 countryman with led headlights & fog lights. Does this mean I will have part led tail lights so wouldn't need to change pin & code ???
I don’t know about the f60. I’d have thought the union jacks for the countryman would be a straight swap (maybe with some minor coding for the voltage monitoring if any) id have a look on some forums
Does anyone knows if it is possible to do the same thing in a 2010-13's Countyman model ?
Just installed these... need to code them, reader on the way. Thanks for the wiring tips! Massive help
Great video thanks. Would this process work when upgrading from halogen to the non UJ led versions?
I believe so. I think the UJ lights are pretty much a straight swap (without the need for expert mode coding) if you already had the non UJ led versions, so that suggests it would be the same process moving from halogens. I still think there are some halogen elements in the non-UJ led lights though so it may differ slightly in the cold/warm monitoring coding
Are you front lights LED? If so my car is the same - might look at getting some of these. Cheers!
No they’re halogen. Hence why I have to do the pin swap and expert mode coding
@@squashylemming5202 Ah that makes sense thanks. So with my part-LED rears will I basically just need to plug the new OEM lights in and use the free to use mode on Bimmercode to remove the errors?
@@TheHazzaaHD yep pretty much! Bimmercode isn’t free though, even for the simple coding. You’ll just need to switch the taillights etc to LED in the app. It’s been updated since I made the video to make it more intuitive.
@@squashylemming5202 That's good to know, I suppose it will be useful to have Bimmercode either way. Appreciate your help!
@@squashylemming5202 Got them installed today and errors all sorted - cheers! Mine has a slight gap on the outside of the light trim though which is annoying me… I drove the top screw for the light in further and compressed the foam behind the light as much as possible so not sure why there’s a slight gap - not sure how to fix it haha!
Thanks for this - super helpful. Downloaded BimmerCode and have OBD2 dongle on its way! A wee job for the weekend, plus thanks to your simple coding advice, now I’ve now got the BimmerCode tools at hand to save on some future diagnostics costs too 🤘
Where to download bimmer code ?
Really appreciate this video, I would of been stuck without it. Cheers 🍻
So i have a veepak adaptor and i go i to bdc and dont see voltage monitoeing at all. Am i missing something?
If you are using bimmercode I believe there has been an update which lets you select if you are changing various lights to LED and it handles all the voltage stuff for you. But I’m not sure as I haven’t used the app since before the update.
Great guidance really enjoyed
Hi,have you changed your front headlights.been give a pair of led headlights from 2017 mini,my car is a 2016 model, thee problem is there are 3 pins on the 2017 and only 2 on mine, any ideas. Chris
From what I understand you can’t retrofit OEM mini led headlights to a halogen car. I may be wrong but I believe the wiring looms and controllers are completely different. There are aftermarket LED headlights that you can get although I don’t know if they have auto balancing which is a requirement to be legal on the road in most countries.
Thanks man!!
Do you still have stock back box and cat?
Yes the rest of the exhaust is stock, just the centre resonator has been removed.
Thank you mate yo are great!!! I have a question. At the end yo turned off the mapping BRMSL LEFT AND RIGHT. Now i have rear fog light but there is no switch to turn on it. I want to change this fog light to rear brake light. What i must to do?
Hi mate, if you want to make your fog lights come on with brake lights, check out Ben Rolfe’s coding video, I believe he shows you how to do it :)
@@squashylemming5202 i already watched. But there is a problem. 1st he have 2 fog lights but i have only one. And he codded brmsl left and right to srl_l. Yo turned it of for union tail lights. Here is a conflict i think. Can yo explain
@@turanhuseynli105 I see. I didn’t realise the fog lights would be controlled differently by the ECU for a car with just the one fog light, I’m assuming you have the cooper with the central fog light at the rear? Unfortunately I don’t have my mini or Bimmercode anymore so I’m afraid I can’t help. Might be worth looking online for a forum post?
hi Great video and very clear on your instructions, much appreciated. i have a slight difference to what you showed on my 2017 mini one where i have swapped out the wires as you showed but i now have left side union light with indicator off but right side on. the right also has indicator (centre horizontal light) as red and left in yellow which is correct. i have not made expert mode updates yet but wanted check if something else wrong or is there a different fix required in expert mode?
Hi again,I did have another problem with the Union Jack lights, the break light strip was staying on when normal lights were switched on,but not when the day time running lights were on,but after watching your video, and having got a Bimmer code and icar adapter, and watching the rest of your video, all sorted. Again thanks, with out your help next visit would have been the garage. Chris
Hi Chris, yeah the coding is an important part. Can be quite dangerous if you skip it for the reasons you stated :) glad you got it sorted!!
Just a quick note, thanks for ur how to video, showing how to sort wiring out on the plug worked a treat, fitted new lights, and NO coding to do.THANKS
Thank you very much, your instructions helped me a lot Thankyou so much ❤️ best regard from Munich City
Got my tail lights from killallchrome, the tail light should do a sequential turn signal but mine don't in US car. Do i just change the voltage part or is there something else?
Yes they are suppose to sweep on turn signal. Do i just change to LED in dimmer code?
Just did everything, all of the expert mode item are already off. I still get no sweep for turn signal.
Why are these people always smacking their fucking lips like they're having crumpets with the queen??
