    The problem with all these low row machines is that they encourage people to lift the shoulders as you can see here. It's important to keep the shoulders down to activate the lats properly.

    • @dertrendtrader
      @dertrendtrader День тому

      Since the muscle is best stimulated in the stretch, it makes absolutely no difference ... apart from that, the low row is designed for the upper back, not for the lat ;-)

      depending on the height adjustment of the chest pad, how long the users arms are and where you grab the handles there just wasn't enough stretch and drop off for me. Now it is perfect, especially when you grab the handles lower and/or the chest pad is at a shallower angle.

    Wouldn't you prefer it even more if there were a way to overload the first portion of the movement? I.e. just like pin/ cam 3 on Prime to overload the beginning range but while also avoiding letting momentum make the later part easier? Picturing something like this but using Voltra or Keiser type of approach to enable overloading just the start.

    While I like the advice that more is better, it just isn’t realistic for lots of people, at one point I had a shed with 40 pieces in it, I now have 6 in my basement. I was given some advice that I didn’t appreciate at the time, “find a few pieces that you enjoy and feel good for you” and this came from a guy who refurbished, re engineered the cams, and build custom restraint systems to equipment. Look for the perfect piece for you, not everyone else. This is what is so great about your place, people could literally come and try the top of the line for everything and decide what they like, almost no place else can offer that! Thanks for the video, was fun to watch!

    Most people couldn't even begin to understand the passion involved behind having a home gym and how sometimes the money takes a backseat (if it's available) to other factors. It's like being a collector except your collection happens to be functional. Working out whenever you want with handpicked equipment is a joy most will sadly never have the opportunity to experience. If you built a commercial gym, you'd have to worry about making a profit. When it's just for you, that doesn't matter and of course, you don't have to deal with people (one of the worst parts).
