Take about 0.5 gm of sodium carbonate in a test tube A and sodium hydrogen carbonate in test tube B. Add about 2 ml of dilute hydrochloric acid to both test tubes. liberated carbon di oxide when passed through lime water(calcium hydroxide), liberated carbon di oxide gas turns the solution milky. It confirms that liberated gas is CO2

very important reaction for sslc students. In this reaction zinc granules react with dilute sulphuric acid liberates hydrogen gas. When this gas made to pass through delivery tube through the solution of soap, bubbles are formed. To test this gas here we use burning match stick, the pop sound produced confirms the liberated gas is hydrogen.
