Crazy Humpback Whale Interaction! | 4K HDR
This big female Humpback surprised us by surfacing right beside the boat and spent over 25 minutes hanging out. There's a rumor that she let us rub her chin several times but I cannot confirm or deny that! Another shout out to Adam Ernster and the Condor Express for locating this whale!

Here's some dolphins because the water was crummy and I couldn't find any whales this weekend! Messed around with some different camera angles this time. All shots filmed with DJI Mavic 3 drone. Shout out to Adam Ernster for the super helpful camera setting tips. ua-cam.com/channels/TdW3FR7Mygn68hUSduVKUg.htmlfeatured
Dolphin Sex, Humpback Feeding, and Minke Whales! Weekend Recap 4K HDR

Footage is from this weekend's trips in the Santa Barbara Channel. Saw a great group of Humpback whales which included some brief lunge feeding. Also a pretty cool event; Dolphin intercourse! It appeared to be nonconsensual but what do I know? Also spotted was a pair of Minke Whales. Minkes are usually pretty shy around our boat so it was a fun sighting.

An amazing nursery pod of Common Dolphins. Lots of babies can be seen swimming with their moms. This video is way too long but it was too cool to shorten up!

Trying out the new Trollpro mount for GoPro camera. Cloud cover was dense so the footage is a little dim. The GoPro picked up some great audio of this pod of Long-Beaked Common Dolphins.

We came across a relatively rare sighting of Orca in the California Channel Islands, about half way between Santa Cruz Island and the Santa Barbara Harbor. The pod hunted and killed a small Common Dolphin while we were watching.

Adult Orcas may weigh 8-9 MT..their velocity from 5 to 0 M (until impact) may be about 5 M per Sec which may have an impact force of 5 Newton Metre...on surface(all figures are about only) What if a Sea Lion or a GWS(owner of tasty Liver! ) dives to 6M and only periodically surfaces/snorkels up for gulps of air....would the impact of underwater collision prove life saving? Will Orcas give up after a few hours of such tactics? It's only an academic thought.....the Orcas are far more intelligent/Sea Lions can never think of such evasive tactics? Although ,considering that for the Orcas the hunt is only an "involvement" of supper or Juniors On Job Training....whereas for the Sea Lion it is a grave total Life or Death "Commitment". Orcas at Sea and Honey Beavers on Land...best to steer well clear!😅
Are they playing with their food or did it even become food? Gory details are fine sometimes.
Is orcas teach their children how to hunt??
was the sea lion already stunned before filming? amazing water with the sun rays/color. great to have in 4k!
Que martírio.😢
We are watching a real Orca Show without a trainer.
Noy like the end became Moving camera about Idiot
so cute watching the baby orca charging and learning
Induk Orca tidak langsung memakan singa laut yg sdh tidak berdaya, induk orca juga bermain main dan sedang melatih anaknya bagaimana caranya berburu, nampak si anak orca mengikutinya.
Cruel killers of the ocean!
Ângulo de filmagens horríveis !
thats just mean man
If you notice the baby Orca is using it's tail like the adults. This could also be a teaching lesson for it. They don't want to risk getting a bite from the seal. So they are trying to stun/immobilize it before killing it. Or they are simply using there tails to do the killing. There are so many ways these "wolves of the ocean" operate when faced with different prey.
they didn’t kill it quickly because this is a training exercise for the young orcas. It wouldn’t do any good to learn all hunting tactics on a deceased animal that can’t fight back. However im sure when teaching the babies, they will sometimes kill their prey(like going from preschool to senior year)They need to learn what to do when certain situations arise, Much like how the military does practices drills for different circumstances, orcas do the same by teaching their young. Their emotion region in their brain is VERY large indicating that they are capable of emotions(larger than ours is) plus their frontal cortex makes them very intelligent. Orcas are maternal/matriarchal meaning their pods mostly consist of females of many generations plus the babies. These pods with the older orcas teaching the young tricks to hunt, If they didn’t train these lessons the pod would be doomed. Its all about teamwork and strategy with orcas. Whether it be hunting by beaching themselves to get their food, hydroplaning on the shoreline, tail flips/ramming them to concuss , blowing bubbles to confuse prey, or all together going under a ice berg to break it up and cause waves to get their prey into the water. Their brains are the largest comparative to size in the animal kingdom. Scientists even believe they might be smarter than we are. They certainly have a hierarchical society like we do and a language much like our own that they’re trying to decipher by the use of AI. Overall they’re quite fascinating!
Orca are gay they’re like a cat fooling around and playing with kill. The seal was just waiting to be taken and the pod plays around. Lame video lame animal
Why are the killer whales circling him and messing with him for so long before the attack ? Why don’t they just attack? I would think the before would almost be worse.
The baby orca learning is fascinating
I always feel sorry for the prey
amazing video capture
Jump on his back. This why white folks be getting ate out there
This video is cringe af
A new study suggests that the whales do this not only for entertainment, but to rid themselves of unwanted parasites.
But I guess his spin is broken he cannot escape poor seal.
Good example, when I here the bullshit of "Mother nature is so good and nice and friendly" LOOK here nothing nice nothing mother like this is only stupid thinking of people trying to make everything human like.
Tadinha do bicho. Fiquei com pena pq as orcas demoraram para come-la. Que agonia em ver essa cena. Sei que é a lei da natureza. E amo as orcas. No início pensei: nossa! Assim... Numa bocanhada só 😂😂😂 parabéns pra quem filmou issou. Um grande espetáculo.
I know the orcas need to eat but I feel so bad for the sea lion suffering like this. I wish it would have had a quick death.
Horrific way to die getting tortured before you get eat up 😢😔
any idea why sea lion does not dive or swim away?
Don't feel bad for the seal. They have to eat and there's no vegetables in the sea. I love how the mother is training the calf!
I’m always rooting for the seal. The orca can get over it and just eat fish.

The killer whale is the ONLY animal that I am aware of that tortures it's prey/enemies before consumption besides humans. Is there any other species that exhibits this behavior that any one knows of?
The big bull orca does The killing
I hope they don't eat human. Nobody don't want to die like that!
Was that seal hunt or seal torture? Poor brute!
Someone would say that the white shark is a better hunter than orca because it is not afraid of attacking a sea lion head-on and definitively. However, what we see here is a hunting lesson, the orcas take their time for the younger ones to learn hunting tactics. The brain of a great white is simply not up to it, it is far from the power and sophistication of the true top predator of the oceans, the Orca.
