It’s interesting that, other than Superman’s interactions with his dad or Lois, there seems to be a theme here, in the teaser anyway. He saves a little girl and a little boy is calling him. The adults are jaded and angry. Is as if Supes is protecting children who represent innocence and hope, children just GET Superman, and he is saving them. Not saying he won’t save anyone else, just something I noticed.

idk. To have someone who is not an expert of F4 it shows… every issue can be taken and removed from the whole story and nothing changes. Some stories are emotionally interesting but there is no impact on the main storyline. Sue has zero development until now. Most of the stories are focused on Johnny. The characters never find themselves in situations where they have to really fight for their lives. There is no pathos in my opinion. I really enjoyed Dan Slott’s run, there was a sense of a bigger story under the surface. This run is like a 90 tv series. Which could be fun sometimes but after 25 issues is just boring…

The vibe seems like it's a mix of both reeve movies as well as man of steel. Excited!

🤦🏽‍♂️ ffs wtf was that cringe? Laughably horrible cgi, the trademark 360 spin around fights which hopes you won’t notice the bad choreography, the bad color scheme, a weak Superman that got the Yancha treatment, the horrendous cgi shaggy krypto. The Hawk Tuah flight cgi was atrocious. Oh and that Superman suit was NOT fixed in post like the shills were swearing. Noticed the world is ending and Superman is not only slowly putting on his boots like that first reveal, but he’s actually chilling with Lois. Wtf Lotsssssssssss of slomos here and the world is divided for loving or hating Superman, oh and a moody looking Superman again, but NOW it’s a good thing🙄

Very excited for this! It looks hopeful, and we really need some of that. I think James Gunn really understood the assignment.

I really love everything about this trailer. The colors, the rendition of Williams’ theme, the cinematography giving everything from combat to seeing the Planet a mythic quality, and the animation on Krypto are all great. I also love that this movie is going to tap into the zanier sci-fi fantasy vibes of the Silver and Bronze Ages with giant monsters, Krypto, Superman mourning a robot (possible Kel-Ex?), and Guy stopping the glass with his ring. I theorize that the sky sphere sphere is either Gunn’s take on Solaris from All-Star Superman and DC One Million or (and this would be a DEEP cut) IF from Morrison’s JLA run.

Only thing it was missing was dialogue from Lois

I have never been more excited about this movie than I am after watching this trailer! I love that you can grasp the basic story as well as the tone. For all my appreciation of Man of Steel, this trailer and movie seem to have the one fundamental element of Superman that the previous movie was utterly lacking: hope and optimism. The phrase "You will believe a man can fly" has never felt more tangible. And it looks like Lois figures out Clark's identity in this movie, which is really nice. AND THE MUSIC!!!!

I’m so excited for this movie because I’ve actually been hearing that Lois knows Clark is Superman from the jump, so she might’ve figured it out on her own and he still in the dark. This is going to be a fun dynamic.

Looks super fun. Refreshing. Lots of contrast between Superman (struggling, injured, hated) vs Clark (him at the Kent fam, at work, with Lois). The allure of a simple life VS the responsibility of heroism. Very Spider-Man. Also he is being helped by Krypto, by Lois. Really interesting ideas / themes being set up and I love the overall sense of the visuals and the music. Going to be a fun watch

I think the trailer looks good, but I’m still anxious after Man of Steel. Really hope this movie is good!

Reacting to Superman in a Cap t-shirt is great colour synergy.

This trailer is so damn refreshing. Too many years of darkness and no hope in DC movies.

My favorite Superman concept is him squaring off alone against a huge monster/robot/etc as only he can - panels where he is tiny in the sky at its eye level - so that kaiju scene looks awesome. This still manages to hide the actual tone of the film, unless I'm crazy, which is actually cool, but I was surprised at how Clark seems to be struggling in every frame of the teaser. I was expecting at least one glory shot of him smiling and looking friendly, but the struggle aspect seems to be what Gunn is presenting in each reveal about this movie. I trust Gunn, though, and believe he will not deliver a downer Clark like Snyder did. I will say that I'm kinda surprised at the look of the film. How stark it is. I seem to recall Donner talking about the "haze" on the cinematography in the Kansas portions of the 78 film, and that was sorta adopted a bit by Singer in "Returns", and I guess I'm surprised this movie doesn't look more "film-like" if that's a thing. And I fully predict a continuation of the reaction to the first costume photo reveal, and people will criticize that it actually does appear that Lois has to convince Clark to go battle a huge purple eyeball thing that's already destroying Metropolis.

I think Ram meant to refer to Naradha, who is sort of a trickster God, not Narayan...

In the part where he mentions the Hindu God 'Narayan', I think he meant another God 'Narad' known for his gaslighting powers. Narad is an ardent follower of 'Narayan.' I may be wrong though.

Phantom Road is a great story and I am waiting on Vol. 3. Until then I guess I'll keep re-reading the first 2 volume as I have been doing!!! When is the comic going to continue again??!!

I think the reason that the New Gods can't sustain is because people only create apocalypse stories with them.

This sounds incredibly boring. 😅 so, it’s going to focus on a new character self insert meeting the original New Gods characters to become plot armored? Good luck. I’ll check it out but there are so many New Gods characters that need some attention. This pitch would be better as a creator owned book.
