Returning to Work After Grief
My Journey: Returning to Work After Grief
Welcome to my channel, Mikel Hermine! In this heartfelt video, I will share my personal experience and insights on returning to work after experiencing grief. Losing a loved one is an incredibly challenging journey, and finding your way back to a normal routine can be overwhelming.
Join me as I dive into the various aspects of returning to work after grief, including:
1. Phased Return: I will discuss the significance of a phased return to work, allowing yourself the time and space to adjust gradually. I will share the benefits of this approach in fostering a smooth transition and minimizing stress.
2. Manager-Employee Relationship: I will explore the essential role of managers in supporting employees during this vulnerable period. I will highlight effective communication strategies, empathy, and understanding that can help foster a supportive and compassionate workplace environment.
3. Compassionate Leave Policies: I will shed light on the importance of compassionate leave policies in organizations, which provide employees with the necessary time off to grieve and heal without fear of job security. I will discuss how these policies can contribute to the overall well-being of employees.
4. Knowing When to Leave: I will touch upon the sensitive topic of knowing when it may be necessary to leave a job after experiencing grief. I will provide insights into signs and indicators that may suggest it's time to explore new opportunities for healing and growth.
5. Persevering Through Challenges: I will offer practical tips and strategies for persevering through the challenges you may encounter upon returning to work. From self-care practices to seeking support networks, I will provide guidance on nurturing resilience and finding balance.
Join me on this empowering journey as we navigate the return to work after grief together.

When I say I resonated with everything you said in this video!! You have put into words what I have been trying to express for years. From now on my answer to why Jamaica will include the following: the sharing of your video and the short answer is “Jamaica makes me feel whole”. When you’re genuinely seeking peace and just to embrace the simple things in life Jamaica embraces you in that way and slow down.

Baby girl. Jamaica is the land of healing. In JA you can’t be stressed for too long, mad for too long, or feeling down for too long. Nature, the atmosphere and the vibes of the people heals you quickly. We’re one people-it’s all one love. This is how I was raised. We all helped each other.

I have to agree with you there with your positive talk. London has gone down 100% I’m old school I come from the 90s vibes used to be much better with everybody. The vibes is very tense and everybody’s out what they can get. There’s no more getting together like they used to be back in UK all days And it’s over populated as well with too many people live in London. So yes I have to agree with you I love watching your program and you speak very positive. Keep the great work going. London is very depressing and I can’t wait to get back to Jamaica, myself where there is great vibes, have a wonderful time👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Jamaica does not have a widespresd bleaching culture. Just look at the faces of the average person you see walking the streets of Jamaica. More often than not this practice is found among some of the inner-city youth who usually do/did this in imitation of some dancehall DJ's who they admire. The DJ''s bleach{ed} as a gimmick to look different as they would to get tattoos, dye their hair or style it in an "outlandish" way, etc. In fact, bleaching is generally ridiculed or scorned as this practice has also come to be associated with criminal elements, including those at large/on the run, who it is believed do this to change their appearance and thus avoid direction and capture by Law Enforcement..

Thank you, I was born and raised in Jamaica, migrated to the US in my teens, I have a daughter who is sixteen and the zeal and the mindset, self esteem I would like to see, isn’t there! I don’t know how to explain it. I need her to spend 6 month to a year there. Not just a week, she needs more time understanding, experiencing and embracing what Jamaican has to offer. I should have sent her to live in Jamaica at a younger age. Jamaican parents with kids abroad, send your kids to Jamaica to live for a bit, it will help them immensely! My daughter says she’s Jamaican but it needs a little bit of seasoning 😂🇯🇲

The his is very true. I his is why so many famous people go to JA because no one harasses them. Jamaicans attitude is “yuh nuh bettah dan mi.” “A we run tings.” This is the mindset.

I love this for you sis. Its easier to be free when you are surrounded by nature and more so people who look like you. In the UK we are deliberately displaced and marginalised. In the Caribbean, in this instance JA, you are embraced because you ate Home in so many forms of the word Home. Proud of you for taking the time to rediscover yourself ❤ Mumsy would be (and is) beaming with pride and joy!
