We were on Mackinac for a few days last week, including Saturday, September 21, when it was very foggy. We biked to Fort Holmes, the highest point on Mackinac, and couldn't see Round Island, which is usually in view. We could have seen you on a clear day, lol. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

This is the wrong way. You want to start at the main lookout from the main trail. Then find the unmarked trail to the second dune. And then run down the sand in the trees back to the Meadow Trail and the main trail.

You should really consider keeping loose things in a bag and tethered to your vessel. I see too much trash on the Clinton and Huron Rivers. A lot of beer cans, some full, some empty, some floating and some at the bottom. Loose gear is similar to having glass on the water, just don't do it, please.

Yep...that's Stampsand. The leftover rock from crushing the copper out. It's made a HUGE mess at Buffalo Reef up towards Gay...affects fish habitat BAD.

When you're at places like this by yourself get a GoPro and set it up to capture a timelapse video. Set it at 10 seconds 4k 60 wide. This gets you 10 seconds per hour. The smooth movement of the clouds with the historic buildings would be a nice addition to your video. You can always count on having clouds in MI. It doesn't have to be the newest model. I still use a GP8.
